Hi Ed01, hope you are having a good day!

Have you heard of any update on Ox's injury? I thought i saw somewhere that he was expected back for pre season. But i have heard some people mentioning now that it seems to be a lot worse, like 9months+? very disapointing if true, as he was in fine form and would have been good to have him back for the start of the season!

Any info is appreciated!

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any time frame being mentioned sorry.}

Hey Ed001, do you know what the injury has been classified as. All we've I've read is that it "ligament damage". I've ruptured my ACL recently and wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy but its made me more curious about injuries, specifically the knee ones.

{Ed001's Note - they have just said ligament damage. Unusual for LFC as they are usually fairly forthcoming regarding injuries.}

The fact they are normally forthcoming makes me worried its a serious injury, is that why they are going for Fekir/ Atatcking midfielder? If it is his ACL he will be out the entirety of next season meaning we will need to fill his position, with Lallana seeming on the out and Milner not being able to play every game (Seems to slow down fitness wise later on in games) we need someone. These two would needed to have been replaced now/ soon anyway.

ACL are potential career Enders depending on the severity. I know because that’s what happened to me and I had to leave the military. I have had surgery and physio therapy etc for years and still I cannot run more than 4-5 miles without the pain becoming unbearable, cold weather and going up or down too many step in a short period o time is also difficult. And all this was after a long period of diagnosis which can be difficult. I suspect Ox will have a lot better care than I did but it really can have a massive effect, especially for players that rely on a bit of pace. Again I used to be be pretty rapid, but those days are long long gone.

Hard to say how long Ox will be out with that general information. If it had been an ACL injury I would expect him to have surgery by now. Looking at the situation it could have been an ACL injury, that would rule him out for 9-12 months, and research shows that just 55. % returns to the level of sport after surgery. But my first guess would be MCL (medial collateral ligament, on the inside of the knee), that would be about 3 months away from football training, but he could train strength and running a lot sooner. So I hope for a MCL injury, but we'll se in pre-season, unless there is more info from the club ahead of pre-season.

5-6 miles Westwood? I don't think the pain would be an issue for me, fairly sure I'd be dead after 2.

A lot of rumours from the normally reliable Paul Tomkins site he's already had surgery but has done both ACL and PCL ligaments, which is a nightmare scenario and one from which the surgeons cannot predict how well (or even, if at all) he will recover. Hence the lack of news so far. Really hoping this is not true but, if it is true, his career is massively under threat and in the very best case he will need a major rehab period (1 year plus I expect. )

He has just posted a photo on Instagram post surgery. Hope it’s not a lengthy lay off.
