Good Morning Redmen,

Hope you are all well and slowly recovering from the disappointment of the weekend.

Don't worry Carra is not here to spit at you, I am just going to provide the loan update :)

Harry Wilson started his first game since his injury lay off and the boy delivered with a MOTM performance.
Hull beat Norwich in a topsy Turvy 4-3 thriller with Wilson providing the assist for the opening goal.
Hull then found themselves 3-1 down but fought back to win with Wilson curling home the late winner!

It was a great week for Grujic last week scoring his first senior goal in their mid week win over Barnsley.
Cardiff's good form continued at the weekend beating Birmingham 3-2 with Grujic playing the full 90 in defensive mid.
Since Grujic joined Cardiff in has been 7 wins and 2 draws in the 9 games that he has featured.

Andy Firth made his first appearances for Chester last week, also his first matches at senior level.
Although it was a week to forget for Chester with back to back 2-0 defeats it was personally a week to remember for Firth.

There was a real shock in the Eredivisie at the weekend as relegation battling Willem II thrashed league leaders PSV 5-0!
Chirivella was at the heart of the win playing the full 90 in centre mid.

It was however a week to forget for Origi who was subbed before half time in Wolfsburgs 3-0 defeat to Hoffeinheim. Origi was not injured so you can only conclude he was having a shocker.

New Boy Arroyo's loan to Mallorca B is continuing to be a success as they beat Petra 3-0.
This is now 6 games unbeaten and a clean sheet in each of the last 4 games.

Flannaghan played twice last week for Bolton with both games finishing as 1-1 draws.
Both goals conceded unfortunately have a similar pattern. Flannaghan was beat for pace on the wing and the resulting crosses were converted.

Ojo made his first start since January for Fulham in their midweek win over Sheffield Utd. He was a late sub in their 2-1 over Preston at the weekend.

Ejaria has found himself at the wrong end of the championship and despite some spirited displays at the turn of the year things are now starting to look bleak for Sunderland.
Back to back defeats last week leave them rock bottom of the championship.
Ejaria however played the full 90 in both and is getting plenty of game time.

After a bright start to life at Bristol Ryan Kent has found himself on the subs bench in recent weeks.
Kent was again a sub at the weekend coming on for a late run out as they lost 2-1 to Preston.

Randall played the full 90 at RB as Hearts lost 2-0 in the Edinburgh derby to Hibs.

It was a hard week for Corey Whelan and Yeovil as they first lost 1-0 in the Semi final of the Football league trophy to Shrewsbury.
At the weekend they lost 2-0 to Newport County.

Keita grabbed himself an impressive assist in RBL's midweek Europa win over Zenit for which they won 2-1.
He also featured in a 0-0 draw at the weekend which has been described as a 'drab' affair.

Sturridge is still injured
Markovic was left out the squad
Allan was suspended

And that's your lot redmen

8 games left of the prem season, 16 points needed to reach the magic 76.
No team has ever reached 76 points and not finished in the top 4 for those that did not know.
4 wins, 4 draws, easy stuff. I expect us to do better than that anyway.

Wilson’s displays have been brilliant and it’s really good to see Grujic getting good experience and learning. This experience could help us save money in the summer! Well done Colin W at Cardiff!

Brilliant cheers Carra. If you had to pick one player who is on loan that you think could make a regular first teamer at Liverpool who would it be?

Markp08 - does Keita count? ;)

Seriously though it's Wilson for me, we have no chance of buying someone good enough to cover a long injury for Salah or Mane but willing to sit on the bench when they are both fit. Our best chance for me is to raise one and Wilson has met every challenge at every level perfectly - developing him is our best chance of long term cover and competition for them and a ready made replacement in a couple of years should we need.

What origi been like this season? Always liked him I thought time away would do him well.

{Ed002's Note - Started well but tailed off recently.}

Hi Mark,

Its impossible to say really as all youth players need an element of luck to break into the first team. For example Wilson has had a terrific season for our u23's and has started his loan well at Hull, however when he returns to Liverpool he needs to try and force his way into a team that already consists of a front 3 of Salah, Firmino and Mane, then the likes of Ings, Solanke, Woodburn on the bench.

I would say our most consistent loanee this season has been Chirivella. he's playing in a top division and has been a mainstay in their central midfield all season long. Lots of other Loanees have been in and out of their teams due to form or injuries.

Of those currently on loan I would say either Chirivella or Grujic as our CM needs improving and is our weakest area, one of them could capitalise on the changes that are going to happen.

Nice one Carra, I didn't know Chirivella was doing so well. I always liked Grujic I think he is technically gifted.

Like you say it is very very hard for a young player to break into our first team and hold a regular place.

Thanks keep up your fine work, much appreciated.

I think it would be ideal if Cardiff get promoted and Grujic gets a season with them in PL before bringing him back if he performs. He needs game time and experience for such a critical position IMO. I think in time he’ll be an excellent 6.

Wilson I wasn’t sure how he’d perform at senior level but the lads doing very well.

Agreed SG with both players. My slight reservation is Grujic's tackling, but he is very young and could be a top player.

I would rather have Wilson in squad now instead of lallana, I think lallana is going to leave in summer an he seems too have lost his way, yes he has been injury prone but not good enough for key position we rely on, I really like Wilson would love him too do well, he seems too have knack for scoring goals, he is also creative an would improve playing with the quality we have in 1st team hope we don't let him drift away he too good for that.

Not world class then yet Ed?

Rodgers really did make some strange statements.

{Ed002's Note - He did indeed.}

The play breaks down a lot from Lallana, all those turns he makes himself dizzy. Someone more direct with end product would be much better. I agree sell now while we can get a decent return.

We need to get the new midfielders in asap so they can play together in pre season.

Nice one carra mate.

sounds like a lot of the younger lads are doing top notch! Wilson especially :) Nice to see grujic getting game time.

also im sure a lot of pool fans are feeling better seeing Sevilla outclass those mancs. They talked so much about how they will bash sevilla and show us how it's done. Nice one lads!
