Or the fans could stop overhyping him and others. I am greatful to Klopp not playing Woodburn this season! Just imagine! Young players makes mistake and they need an experience head as a mentor! We don’t have a RB, Do we? The same case on the other side as well!

Baby D is right, TAA is a young inexperienced player. He was exposed today, Klopp will choose the games to play him in to get his confidence back.

As for Woodburn, I think he should have had more sub appearances than Solanke.

Solanke is not a top class player, he doesn’t have the pace required or the skill to compensate at the top level.
He’s a championship player.

The lad was well an truly caught out today not only with theirs goal but also turning his back on Rashford for hus second.
Both lovren an Arnold were at fault for their goals in my opinion. It's happened we pick up an move on.

Iss it neccessary to connect a mistake with things like believing theeir owwn hype? Lol crazy man. Maybe the hype should die down a bot and recognizze he is a kid!

5.) 10 Mar 2018
10 Mar 2018 19:25:56
Trent made a mistake for the first goal

Lovren was at fault for 2 of them

And been a experienced centre half he should of been communicating and helping a young player like Trent

Lovren was a disgrace today.

Peterpan it's possible for a player to have a bad game, especially one so young. He was v good in our last few games.

He has one bad game against top, top players nonetheless and he's 'believing his hype'? Cut the kid some slack, the manager will pick and choose games to make sure he and Gomez share the pressure.

Nailed it on Solanke Ron! Just took it out from my mouth!

11 Mar 2018 01:25:48
How was Lovren a disgrace today? He had a bad game but it wasn’t deliberate or through a lack of effort. You’ll never walk alone, unless you have a bad game, then you are on your own right!

I wish we’d stop complaining about not giving kids a chance and then expecting them to play like battle hardened veterans the next and slaughtering them if they make mistakes. They’re kids and they are both very talented and will learn.

Despite this result being painful, it’s a 2-1 defeat away from home where again we looked like we were running the game for decent periods, we just weren’t at our free flowing best.

If anything I think it was our midfield that lacked a little something. I think a Hendo/ Keita/ Lallana midfield will be a far more dangerous proposition for Man Utd to face next season.

13.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 03:34:19
Never had TAA been a right back, even if he had put in decent performance.
No way a good right back will allow the first shot to be made and hit the target. It is obviou and the defender should know Rashford is right footed and will switch to his right foot. Beside at that angle, a proper defender would close angle to goal naturally anyway.
TAA didn’t, and didn’t read the danger and he had been depending on his pace to bail himself out frequently.

As I said in my much ealier post, even if TAA is as talented as many make him out to be (and I have personally see nothing of that sort, but choose not to dispute that at this juncture), he is definitely not a right back.

14.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 06:16:37
TAA looks like a potential midfielder. Athletic, good in the tackle, and with a shot on him.

Right back? No. That first goal Rashford goal - he looked clueless. Future opponents will target him mercilessly now.

We know where we need to spend some of that transfer money this summer.

11 Mar 2018 07:31:43
What about Lovren woefully out of position, failing to even challenege Lukaku for the first header, which left the inexperienced TAA all alone facing Rashford? It's true TAA handled the situation badly but I expect senior players to step up and marshal them through tough games, not leave them isolated. Lovren was rubbish for both goals and for the entire first half, he was a weak point at centre back and a big part of the reason why they were able to score two goals (and should've scored another with Mata's chance) . I thought Lovren had turned his form around but it was the old, uncertain Lovren that we saw at Old Trafford and it disrupted the entire defence. TAA wasn't great but he is very young and learning - he needs to be allowed to make mistakes without fans savaging him - Lovren is a seasoned pro and should be doing better, it is more difficult to find excuses for him.

Strange how people on here are quick to single out players for having an off day. Klopp did not pick a strong enough or intelligent enough midfield to compete, we simply looked clueless on how to breakdown a flat back 10 at points. Chamberlain was woeful and should have been off at half time, Can gave the ball away time and time again whilst Milner just ran about not really doing much. This was where the game was lost on simple tactics you can point to Lovren but if that was the case losing headers why did Virgil not mark him instead?

All the stats point to us dominating the game when the truth is Mourinho got his tactics spot on and once they scored our heads went down looking defeated and they were happy to let us keep the ball because we created nothing. Because Salah has been amazing this season no one seems to want to point out that Ashley Young had him in his pocket start to finish. There is no single person here to blame (Arnold, Lovren etc) the whole team and Manager were poor

On to Watford next week and to put things right again YNWA.

17.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 08:35:34
If Mo had turned and put the ball away like rashford did for the first goal, we'd be calling it a worldy

Give the forward some credit and get off TAAs back! He'll see and learn what he could of done better but some of the kneejerk comments on here are becoming tiresome.

18.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 08:49:56
Leave the kid alone we set up for a parked bus and got caught out. I would still take taa or gomez you don't learn from getting things right and these players need to develop. support the lad he probably blames himself as it is and learn what ynwa stands for.

19.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 10:02:50
As much as Lovren has had a shocker on both goals, where on Earth was VVD? He didn’t attempt to cover the gaps Lovren left marking their only striker. It’s as much a problem with the system of defending as with individual errors I am afraid.

20.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 10:06:50
I thought TAA had a bad game, and has been a bit be low top level at late but young players will go through spells like this. for me he his head and shoulders above Gomez and Clyne there. We could go and get a new right back in the summer but for me come next season he will be a lot better, have to remember this is his first full season.

as for Lovren he lost the header for the first goal against 6 ft 3 in forward sorry guys this will happen and then got outmuscled by the same player for the second goal but after that Can could have done more. we have a lot of young players who will learn from games like this and come back stronger.

11 Mar 2018 10:50:19
Sorry to keep repeating myself but. Our goalkeepers are not good enough. Keeping Rashfords shot out of the goal would have been difficult but I think that there are some keepers that could have saved it. It is that kind of goalkeeper that keeps you in the game. Small margins are very important at the highest level. They score and their confidence increases whilst ours drops.

22.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 11:22:09
TAA will learn from this. Players develop more through mistakes than just turning up and winning every game. Let the lad learn and accept that in some games, at the very highest level, he will be targeted for his inexperience. He got found out with long cross field balls earlier in the season but seems to have adjusted. So let him learn from this too.

In defence of Trent.

He and a few friends got in my step-son’s taxi last night and the first thing he said.

“Ah lad, I know I was sh*t today, but please don’t give me anymore stick”

He is also a person, as well as a player, who knows, acknowledges and accepts his mistakes. When some of you lot make mistakes in your job, how would you feel if dozens of people got on your back for days on end?

They played for the same Sunday league club (Country Park JFC) years ago, before TAA was signed by Liverpool, and he was a striker scoring 2, 3, 4 or more every game.

Have a thought and remember, this is real life, not a PS4 game!

24.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 11:06:18
Trent has been in his best form recently imo and is now our number 1 right back, yes he had a tough game but he was certainly no liability. Rashfords first was a great finish and it’s hypercritical to try and blame Trent, Salah has been doing similar all season and nobody has been blaming defenders.

25.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 11:10:46
@langford - it was an excellent finish that few, if any, keepers would save. Karius did nothing particularly wrong, he was let down by the players in front of him.

{Ed025's Note - not so good on the second goal though seano..

Can't believe we after butland he is another Joe hart in the making, our season are often influenced by key summer signings too replace players who ain't good enough so mignolet should b replaced with quality keeper , hope we have learnt lessons after practically 30 years of keepers who ain't up too it, Trent aa is a baby in football terms he is going to make mistakes doesn't surprise me, hope he learns an gets better still think clyne is better defensively which in that position is 1st priority, Gomez same as Trent very good but liable too mistakes especially out of position.

27.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 15:41:38
Lovren did have a shocker. And it’s not one single mistake that led to the goals, its consecutive mistakes, it’s the weak midfield and the shocking defending from Lovren that exposed TAA, who let's remember, is a very inexperienced midfielder playing fullback. Klopp should not have picked Milner and he should have played Klavan to deal with the physical threat of Lukaku.

28.) 11 Mar 2018
11 Mar 2018 15:46:10
thought Hendo should have played, thought we were set up badly for there 1st goal, Can, who I thought had a good game, should have been closer to Lakaku and deeper, its not difficult to understand, were their goalie would be kicking his goal kicks too, we should have had Can there from the start, with Lovren deeper and closer to TAA,
I must add that 2nd half, United played anti football, players going down injured, taking forever to take a free kick or throw in, plus maureeno fitting in his subs, all stopping the flow of the game, and our momentum,
thought Salah should have come away from Young a few times, and got the ball just a bit deeper, young had Salah in his back pocket all thru the game,
yes, Taa could have played better, but you play kids, and they are going to make mistakes, but he will turn out to be a great player for us,

I did not get a chance to read through all the messages on this thread. A bad day at the office for TAA, if he doesn't play he won't learn from his mistakes. This is why young talent over Europe does not want to come to our club because one or two mistakes and the fans are all over them. Next week or in the CL if TAA had a great game and makes some crucial stops or crosses everyone will be singing his praises and how for a young lad he is amazing.

Shankly said it best "if you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win". Ed02 takes the piss of our fan base, because on this site we are so critical of our team. LFC could be in League 1 and I will support them till I die, I support the club not individual players or managers.
