I was reading the Chinese football forum. Apparently there are discussions by China consortium to take over Liverpool. I know it has been brought up before. But this time apparently someone right at top of CCP probably Xi himself, wanted it. We all know what Xi wants Xi gets. And he is ready to straighten whatever bureaucracy that stand in way. Apparently that includes making a call to the Queen and diverting part of CCP national investment fund into the takeover.

From Xi perspective there is no bigger marketing platform than making Liverpool return to the "Perch". That also will sow good credits with western Liverpool football fans in cheap China products. Apparently plans in dossier include bringing in top players, names like Neymar, Griezmann, Kane were mentioned. Make what you may of this. But that's what I read on Chinese forum.

I sincerely doubt it's true but fsg are business men and to say they'd reject it because of investments made may not be accurate. They've spent a lot of money and received little success in return. If there is a good deal brought to them I would imagine they'd listen. It means zip unless ed2 says there's something. Who's brave enough to ask him today?

Hope it isn’t true cos I can imagine this kind of ownership would have masses of pitfalls, regs issues etc that will ruin the club.
