Hi Eds,

Now that Leon Goretzka has signed for Bayern and if Can doesn't sign a contract, we are left only left Henderson as CDM kindly of role. Henderson does a decent job but is injury prone. Is our Club tracking a midfielder who can compete for the next season?

Keita isn’t a deep lying midfielder. He’ll play the role, Coutinho, Lallana and Gini play, which is ahead of can and hendo. Keita will add creativity and also has a quality pass on him. A deep playing player would be someone like ndidi who ed1? has alluded to before. If can leaves we’ll need another deep playing midfielder if he doesn’t then I’d like to see him as the first choice player for that position. Just needs to add a bit more consistency.

That Savic from lazio would be a class option but would cost a lot of money.

Klopp doesn’t play with a DFM like Ndidi. All his midfielders have to play on the front foot. I agree he may well play Keita either side of a 3, but I don’t believe Klopp will buy a specialist holding midfielder like a Mascherano. Not his style.

My Football Manager team has Henderson, Kieta, Kante, Kovacic and Fabinho, bit of rotation and depth. Unstoppable if we had it I need real life!
