Hi eds, are we looking at any keepers? Do you know of any that klopp rates and wants to bring in?
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect any more goalkeepers to be signed before the summer.}

I guess we will need 3 to move on before we sign one. Bogdan, Migs definitely gone this summer. One of Ward or Karius will be sold and I think Klopp will push the boat for Alisson.

Wishful thinking. Dream on.

3.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 18:38:07
How is it wishful thinking? Klopp will look for a GK in the summer.

4.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 18:46:53
Lol no chance at present, but certainly has to be priority in the summer, but first we need to move on what we have. 3 out of Migs, Bogdan, Ward and Karius need to be shipped out, unless Ward becomes no.1 and Karius as backup.

{Ed0333's Note - I don’t think Ward is the answer either mate

14 Jan 2018 19:18:50
Why ed is he that bad, he has had good reviews when going out on loan, we will never know he ain't been given a chance.

{Ed0333's Note - he’s not bad parse but I don’t think he’s a keeper that you win the Premiership or a Champions League with. But then again I thought AOC wasn’t good enough for LFC. What do I know.

6.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 19:22:33
Yeah I agree ed033. People think he is the answer cause he had a very good season in the championship with Huddersfield its baffling to be honest. None of our keepers are good enough. Karius the best of a very bad bunch for me but there has to be a clear number 1 bought in the summer.

{Ed0333's Note - absolutely mate. Hear you loud and clear

14 Jan 2018 19:39:23
I do think we need to change the goalkeeping coach.
Every time he takes them for warm pre match he looks like he's about to keel over!

8.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 19:40:07
I just don’t get why he never let Ward out on Liam to Huddersfield. I find it completely baffling, we could have had a free look at him in PL. if he was brilliant then we get him back, if he was ok but as ed thinks not PL winning great, we could get good money for him.

9.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 19:57:16
I like too keep an open mind on players they don't get too were they are without being good at something, never rite someone off look at vardy for example at his age he still very useful played most of his career in lower leagues also albrighton haha the whole leicster squad.

10.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 20:32:39
I think any fan can see we need an upgrade in goal .
I like karius but he’s not gunna win us points in a season you look at teams who have won the league or challenged keepers will keep them in games and win them 10-15 points a season . Petr Cech in his Chelsea days is the best example I can give the man was pure class his 1st 3/ 4 seasons their.

11.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 20:35:02
Let's judge ward when he plays a few games for us.

12.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 21:02:44
one mistake from ward and we would tear him to shreds, look at the stick karius gets.

13.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 21:16:11
@kingkenny7
I’m not 1 to give stick to players . I’d rather support them but after watching karius a bit now he seems slow to react in certain situations . I hope I’m proved wrong and he improves massively.

14.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 21:46:37
Everyone’s been calling for Karius to get a run of games. The minute he’s in goal people call for him to be dropped. I’m hoping with big virg in front of him he can pull it together for the rest of the season, supposed to be a class act in the budisliga.

15.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 22:05:18
we had 5 years of mignolet surely we can give karuis 4 months, good post Dagger.

16.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 22:33:20
Good post Dagger, I think we see now why Klopp has been reluctant to give Karius a run, one minor error and everyone is saying he isn’t good enough. It wasn’t even a major error like Mignolet’s at Arsenal, I actually give credit to Sane, perhaps Karius should have saved it but it was a brilliant strike with lots of power.

{Ed025's Note - lets not kid ourselves smeg, karius was awful mate..

17.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 22:54:54
Ward doesn’t look like he has a mistake in him, but both Mignolet and Karius do. He’s well worth a go.

18.) 14 Jan 2018
14 Jan 2018 20:56:53
After the match Klopp has told German TV that Karius will be the new no. 1 from now on.

He also said that the first city goal doessn't change that and that they will have a try with Karius as first choice keeper from now on.

Therefore, I don't expect us to sign a new keeper in this window.

19.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 00:16:20
The next position we need to upgrade on is goalkeeper 🤝.

20.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 06:50:30
Yes we give our defensive players stick but I think we have a right to vent our frustrations when we’v had to put up with below standard Goal keeping and defending for what, 8-9 years? I genuinely think Karius is our best keeper bit He has to know that letting in a goal like Sanes is just not good enough. If we’ve bought VVD for £75 mil and being linked with the likes of players Macca is suggesting, that’s a pretty big statement from LFC about what we want to be challenging for, and at that level better is expected. Hope Karius stays in goal for the rest of the season and proves us wrong.

21.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 07:41:57
Karius does seem to be in the spotlight when he plays, he could have done better for sanes goal but so could Gomez and matip. I've noticed Pickford is absolutely shocking and gets none of the abuse you see karius getting. Is it because he's English? Who knows.

22.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 08:05:00
karius should be given a chance and support. He does seem nervous even in the warm up. But I bave to say we need a top keeper. Vvd then keita coming we've set the standard now.

23.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 08:48:26
Goal keeping is about skills, of course, but confidence is such a big part of it too!

- Migs, for me, has the confidence but his decision-making can be quite shocking. Then skill-wise he's average or just above average.

- Karius seems to have more skills (taking into consideration his time in Germany too), but really lacks confidence, which kills his game.

- Ward, the few opportunities he's been given at Liverpool, plus his time out on loan, showed he has skills and confidence. And I think his decision-making is not any worse than the other two.

It still baffles me that he's not been given more opportunities, at least in cup games!

{Ed025's Note - bin the 3 of them and buy a decent keeper, the plain fact is that the 3 of them are just not good enough im afraid mate..

24.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 11:53:39
The new Greek lad, Flatfoot Dropalotis has been linked recently.

25.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 12:07:10
Let's remember citehs keeper had a shocking game.

{Ed025's Note - he did reusch, in fact i would say he was the second worst keeper on display at anfield yesterday..

26.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 12:08:16
I remember de gea first season at United kid made a lot of mistakes. It's confirmed migs is pants but I think seeing as we have no choice we let karius run with it until summer then asses who we are able to buy. Keepers do get better with age and the boy is young he should be given time. And we must keep Can. Offer him the money he wants and get him signed.

27.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 12:59:43
As a part time goalkeeping coach (only grassroots) i have to say I still think Mignolet is the best of the two unfortunately, Karius last night was woeful, his positioning is poor, his commitment is terrible and my 12yr olds clearances are better than his, i had high hopes for the lad but he's finished in the prem after liverpool in my opinion.

28.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 14:39:38
I don't know where people get that karius is a decent or even better than mignolet. Mignolet, is a decent keeper that has poor distribution, isn't great from crosses all though he is a lot better than he was and is prone to a mistake. Whereas karius is just not good enough at all. The moral of the story is we need a new keeper, but we should stick with mignolet until the summer.

29.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 16:54:36
Does Karius even care? He is so annoying I hope he gets better. Everybody tried to play their part yesterday, but it just felt as if we didn't have a goalkeeper we could count on. It felt like they would score from every meaningful attack they had! I'm really hoping we sort this out, because this team has a lot of potential. Dream victory yesterday!

30.) 15 Jan 2018
15 Jan 2018 17:27:53
I’m with Den 82 here, Karius isn’t really to blame for their first yesterday. Gomez gets horribly out of position under a cross field ball and for the third time in recent games (Arsenal and Everton) it led to a goal. This seems to be a real weakness in Gomez game which he needs to work on.

31.) 16 Jan 2018
16 Jan 2018 12:14:34
The sport is not awash with top quality keepers and in particular dominant ones who control crosses/ corners and their defence. I like Ward and think he has it in him to be good with regular game time. Karius I’m not sure has the personality and I’ve heard Mignolet isn’t as confident as someone earlier said he is. The chances of getting a 10-15 points a season keeper are low so personally I’m not getting my hopes up of a massive signing there or that anyone who is signed will be the huge leap in level people expect.
