Hi Ed's, what's happening to Clyne? Klopp doesn't seem to update his situation now. He's is out for the season?

Clyne will be gone in the summer mate. Gomez and TAA are ahead of him in the pecking order and that won't change anytime soon considering Clyne is not very good. One thing's for sure and that is Klopp does not seem to miss him much.

Well he is English for starters so some of the mid table sides could be interested otherwise offer him for free to one of the teams in the Indian Super League. The players are more Clyne's level here.

I'm actually quite intrigued what Klopp does with Clyne when he comes back and is fit. We never know Klopp might really rate him and play him. Look at Mignolet for an example.

IB it's because of the goalkeeper situation that has me intrigued. Clyne when fit has been a mainstay starter with Klopp. That's not me saying I rate him but just merely pointing out that Klopp may.

I think it's been more that we haven't had a decent back up to Clyne until this season. I've read on the site all last season that Klopp doesn't rate Clyne too much and Clynes been wanting a change. So I think Gomez and TAA this season will have helped convince Klopp that clynes future is elsewhere. And if not, he'd be a good back up to TAA once Gomez moves centrally.

Jayden, I am pretty sure Klopp does not rate Clyne too highly. He was a mainstay last season because Gomez was injured and TAA had just been introduced to the senior squad. Now that both have made their mark on the squad, there should be no way back for Clyne.

Clyne won't be back in the squad, I bloody hope not anyway, that'd cause so much disruption, he himself must know it as well, he's nowhere near Gomez or TAA level and he's more experienced! We should look at flogging him, Sutton United FC are looking for a defender.

I agree why is everyone on his back. Injuries happen it's part of the game ok he's not top class but has been consistent for us.

Every player needs real competition for his place to acheive and maintain top performance. Clyne has that now on his return. He might surprise a few on here.

I think it would be a backward step for him to come in, he was another of the ones who gets caught ball watching and not coming back with urgency. Doesn’t make him rubbish but he hasn’t been great in attack or defence.

Do you not realise matt123 how old Gomez is? he's been really good for us the majority of the time, no player is perfect that simply doesn't exist mate, at his age he is going to make mistakes, he'll also learn from them, the kid is a breath of fresh air compared to Clyne.

Clyne helped get us too 4th last year mate an he played loads of games for us motoring up an down that right side yeah he isn't cafu but he is a solid squad player, Gomez natural attributes is suited too centre back he is going to make mistakes but he is learning all the time, Trent aa and clyne are good options we suddenly seem too have a squad building an long-term we got Gomez vvd lovren an that world-class Estonian who scores goals hahahaha.

I was told last week that Clyne will be back at the end of the month. If needed I am not agains't Clyne playing some games at rb and Gomez playing in the centre.

matt123 what are you talking about? of course you have to consider his age, he's young and still learning, he's not exactly the most experienced is he? it's his first season starting for Liverpool and at his age come on give him a break. Experience comes with time, I say again, he's young, he will make mistakes from time to time, there will be more, he will learn from them as he progresses.

Sounds to me like you'd rather have Clyne in the position because Gomez has made a couple of mistakes lol maybe you should try watching Clyne before judging Gomez.

Clyne is, without a shadow of doubt, our best fullback.

Gomez is a CB playing out of position and TAA is nowhere near as competent defensively.

If Clyne is fit, he starts.

I watch and Clyne is not a good full back - by the excrement that is served up as FBs today he is passable but he ball watches, wanders back and his final ball isn't good enough to cover that. He's about standard for a FB but to say he got us top 4 is pushing things totally. You could argue his gaffes helped stop us getting top 3.

giantKey, I have probably watched every single game he's played mate, your speaking nonsense atleast tell me what's so good about him before going on one about irrelevant stuff. I think you'll find the majority of posters here are passionate about the club and will watch the games. Making a comment like that I doubt you do? if you think Clyne is the best fullback we have, I think it's pretty obvious. I can handle 'Clyne is somewhat decent' but to say he's the best fullback we have is having a laugh lol.

TAA is better then Clyne and he's nowhere near as experienced, but he's still learning.

Gomez can play both positions, he's not playing out of position at all, sure I'd love to see him at CB because I feel that's where he should be, having said that he's playing well at RB so what's the problem. See, Gomez makes a couple of errors and suddenly certain 'fans' go against him and turn to Clyne as if he's been missed.
