I am reading rumours that we made a bid for Vrasjalko the out of favour Atletico Madrid right back. Obviously it can't be true at this point because nothing can be done until January. The point is there has to be a reason he can't get into the Atletico Madrid team. If something comes of this in January it will just seem like we are buying other teams cast offs.

He’s had a shocker since he joined them. Frankly speaking the problem is in the centre of our defence not the right. Not one of Matip, Lovren or Klavan has shown themselves to be of the sufficient quality and if Klopp thinks throwing Gomez into the lions den is the answer that’s poor management.

Let reword it mr dennis. Klopp thinks putting our best defender there is the best solution. Gomez is more comfortable on the ball, is stronger and faster than the other 3 choices. That alone gives him the edge over the other 3 in our system.

Throwing him into the lions den alongside any of those three could potentially destroy the lad. Getting regular football at right back at this stage is the best option long term, then moving him into the centre once he’s found his feet, like we did with Carragher. Carragher was lucky to have Hyypia to play alongside. Look at who Gomez has? It would be more sensible at this point to buy a top class centre back who strengthens us straight away than throwing in a rookie to play alongside the three worst centre backs in the league.

De Bruyne and Salah were once chelsea’s “Cast offs”

Coutinho was once inters “cast off”.

Massive difference between Coutinho, De Bruyne, Salah and Vrasjalko. Coutinho, De Bruyne and Salah were all top class talents who had been written off by their clubs at a young age, by contrast, Vrasjalko is in his mid twenties and has struggled at a higher level. There’s nothing special about him and doesn’t answer the problem we have in defence. If this is the best we can do, I wonder if our recruitment team either have any comprehension of our shortcomings and how to address them.

You do all realise he plays CB aswell and did well in Italy, ACM have a very good defence not easy to get in.

Our scouting team begged klopp for Salah, so at least something amazing came out of a messed up transfer window and we actually have people at the club who know there onions, I am made up we got ox he's got character an ability that can get better, Robertson is a good left back as well.

Crying out for a top class centre back, so we go after a mediocre right back who struggles to get games at Atletico because he can’t make the step up from Serie A to La Liga, makes absolutely zero sense to me whatsoever.

I did exactly thqt ED002 before I posted the question. The only post relating to him was in Dec were someone asked about us signing 4 or 5 players and you replied just No. Unless i've missed other posts on him and if so then I am sorry. I simply followed up to the initial post and asked ed001 if he was aware if we are interested in him at all.
