Hi Eds, I've seen claims today that Barcelona are offering us first refusal on Mascherano in January, and that we're considering it (along with a bid for one Romain Saiss of Wolves) . Am I safe in assuming that this is nonsense?

{Ed002's Note - Mascherano is available but I have no idea about any "first refusal" or what that means. The player is of interest to others and Barcelona has already held discussions with one side. If Liverpool are keen and the player wants it then it can certainly happen. It makes zero sense to me. I am not aware of any approach for Romain Saiss by Liverpool or any other side at this time.}

The story comes from a fluff piece that originated from Messi quoted in Diario Gol a couple of weeks back. where he allegedly suggested JM might come back to LFC in a surprise move.

Given the fact that he went on Strike at Liverpool to force a move, why the hell would he want to come back. He is getting on a bit now, granted he far outshines anyone we have in that position now.
