Whilst I'm not a huge fan of signing pensioners it did work out well woth Mcallister many moons ago and I think Mascherano is the type of player we're missing in those games where we get our noses in front but can't close the game out and end up drawing - chuck him on for the last 20mins to protect the defence. Not a fan of the way he left us either before anyone asks.

I think Mascherano is going to decline due to loss of running power with age a LOT more than McAllister will, though Johnny.

May have already happened, but it doesn't show in a team where he's not tested.

He could still do a good job at CB or DM for us. Certainly a class above what we currently have on those positions.
