Ed is there any chance we could look to bring Keita in January or is it not happening at all?

{Ed002's Note - It may be possible if RBL end up bottom of their CL group and Liverpool were to be willing to pay yet a further supplement to to transfer fee.}

Probably best we just leave it till the summer, let's save our funds for defenders.

Thank you for reply ed. Are you aware if the club are considering pursuing it if indeed RBL circumstances are as you say?

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea - but I don't see why they would jkeep throwing money at a player they already have an agreement for that has yet to convince many that he is worth anything like what Liverpool are prepared to pay.}

i agree with you Ed on not paying more money as we already have an agreement. But i do question those who are not convinced that he is worth what we paid for him especially in todays market. I think he is performing better in the german league than pogba was in the italian league and we're getting keita for almost half that price for a player playing in a better league and not playing for the run away best team.

Not making this about man utd or pogba just using a comparison of players in the same position, same market ect. infact id also say none of our current cm's barring coutinho could have the same impact at a team like RBL as keita.

for me coutinho, firmino, mane and keita is the quality of player needed to win things, will give salah time but very impressed with him also.

{Ed002's Note - It is a long way from half the price and Keita performances are very inconsistent.}

Sadly, It's the Liverpool way ed002.

I think many on here are convinced by his talent ed. And considering what we were willing to pay had we acquired him this summer, the price we agreed for next summer looks like a steal! I think he's a good pickup, but I'm just going off what the eds have told me and the occasional video.

Most have never seen him play other than videos or u tube highlights.
He is well regarded by a lot of people within the game but the epl is like playing a different sport at times so you never know how its going to work iut for players in the epl even when they have obvious potential.

A few years ago around the time we signed firmino I would of been furious with 70 mil for keita, but after last summer. Yes we have signed a 35 million cm for more than double but city sign a 25 mil rb and lb for 50 mil each. Tottenham signed a young 18 mil cb for 42 mil. Everton signed signurdaon for 45 mil, drink water for 40 mil, ox 4o mil. It was a mental summer, and it's properly not the end of it all.

Out of interest, I wonder how many full games Ed02 has watched him play to say he's overpriced in today's market. ;)

{Ed002's Note - I wonder where you found those words? You will have to point out where I said that. I am not making any claims about him - right now you want to make an issue of this for some reason, let's hope you can substantiate it with yet another attempt at screwing with the Eds that makes Liverpool fans looking embarrassingly stupid.}

I for one respect ed002's opinion. He has shown sound judgement in the past on numerous occasions. 🤝.

Having read the post from smplfc which is a little confrontational and makes that one supporter look embarrassingly stupid I wonder why you (again! ) have to tar us all with the same brush. I also think the the comment is unnecessary but then so is your comment. Why don't you just ignore the man and not use it as an excuse to attack us all?

Ed, the ";) " at the end good sir, was a reference to the posts you're likely to receive on this site asking the question that I did, but with those posters actually meaning it.

I see now that due to constant friction on this site, you just assume that a Liverpool fan couldn't possibly be trying to have a laugh with you.

I'm not making an issue of what you've said. I've not seen the guy play a full match myself.

He's a fantastic player, I have seen him play tons of times over the past year or so and he will add top quality to the team there's no doubt about it. I see him ending up one of the best CM in the league. Shame we couldn't get him in the summer but at the same time, exciting we know we've got him coming in.

Ed001 - you seen much of him mate? would appreciate your views if you have done.

{Ed001's Note - a couple of times this season and he does look excellent, a massive improvement on what we already have.}

Agreed, I know it's not really relevant but thought id share. I was looking at Kante and different stats, comparing him to Keita, and was quite surprised.

So Kante - He's scored 10 and assisted 14 in 173 appearances.

Keita - Scored 34, assisted 27 in 142 appearances.

We all know Kante is a fantastic player so I'm not taking that away from him but this really goes to show just how good Keita is.

{Ed001's Note - hmmm not so sure it shows anything other than Keita is more attacking.}

30 Sep 2017 08:51:15
Exactly my thoughts mate, Kante offers loads he's simply fantastic in my eyes, imagine them two together, only one can dream. Thanks ed001 for your time mate.

{Ed001's Note - that is very similar to what Chelsea have with Bakayoko to be fair.}

15.) 30 Sep 2017
30 Sep 2017 09:45:21
Yeah that's true, Bakayoko is another special player, technically gifted, strong, fast. Doesn't matter what we say, Chelsea have a top notch squad, I'm hoping we're heading in that direction and with Keita incoming plus god knows who else, it does look promising, to me anyway.

Ed2, we all trusts you info and insights, but you did say not long ago that your rarely watch games anymore. If your search function wasn't a dog's breakfast I'm ssure I could find it lol but it's Algoods anbyways, I think we're supposed to be not worrying about money anyways right!?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what most of that means.}

17.) 30 Sep 2017
30 Sep 2017 11:56:37
Keita is a raw talent. Has everything to be a world beater but needs guidance. He is young and Klopp is one of the best at development so imo a good buy. Plus he's African and African players are very physical (I know, I'm half Ghanain and have played a lot of footie there), the physical side of the prem won't scare him. He will be naturally stronf.

18.) 30 Sep 2017
30 Sep 2017 12:01:43
Ed002 might not watch much football but don't under estimate his input. Clearly he knows people who are in a far better position than anyone on this site to give us an unbiased opinion on a player or the club. The issue is that a good deal of fans really don't like the truth or facts, they take it as an insult and get their knickers in a twist. The man is seldom wrong, Fact!

19.) 30 Sep 2017

And people are also too quick to state that some people are acting like idiots, just to cosy up to the Ed's.

As I previously stated, my post was an attempt at 'banter' with Ed02. Clearly due to the abuse he has received previously on here, his sense of humour failed to identify that it was a harmless post.

Regardless of that, let's hope Keita repays every penny.

I do remember Ed2 saying stoke were to come good last year or was it this year 😉.

Is there a chance Keita could pull out of the deal if LFC do not get in the CL next season?

{Ed002's Note - No, he is contracted to sign and UEFA has been informed of the deal already (such that FFP considerations can apportion costs to the correct years).}

I remember Ed 2 saying Moyes would struggle - he was correct, he also said the the LVG tenureship would "end in tears " he was correct.

Let's hope he continues in the same vein with Mourhino 😎.
