Normally I just post a few jokes and keep everyone entertained - however I do actually have some ITK to share. I don't normally post the rumours I hear, however I have fell in love with the site this summer so thought i'd share this one with you all and see how it goes.

It is very unlikely we will get any further business completed this window. Rather than just state this I have explained the situations below;

Club have spoken with Southampton again, but no successful conclusion as the Saints would like to see how if player will make a U-turn for this season. Likely to assess this in January. The rift between the clubs are not as damaging as the media portray, the apology was accepted, however they do not expect any public bids from LFC or communication with VVD. VVD will be speaking with Saints again today to discuss any future moves and the rest of the season expectations with Saints. Obviously if this went sour, a move could be possible but VERY unlikely due to time restrictions. If a bid does come in publicly, it would mean Saints will accept as the clubs would have been in touch, however still time restricted

Lemar - although player is happy to move, the clubs are unlikely to reach an agreement in time before the deadline. It is reported that the club actually portrayed interest in June, so this isent a last minute enquiry. It could come down to the wire if LFC stump up the funds, however they are cautious of over spending on Lemar at this point considering they have players in that position. Still possible but very unlikely unless LFC Stump up in time.

In terms of outs, all I know is; Origi on loan (widely reported anyway) and still a few clubs in for Sakho (everyone knows this)

In terms of Coutinho, I believe a gentleman's agreement was in place with Barcelona and LFC, not sure if this summer or next but supposedly dependant on incomings, not sure if AOC signing makes any impact. I don't expect to hear anymore info on Coutinho sorry as the source is not ITK with this one.

The club have done very well this transfer window, it is a shame that some moves did not materialise, but this is mainly down to the other clubs valuations and willingness to sell. It is clear players see LFC as a prospect and a good move which hopefully will only improve by next summer.

I'm sure the media will continue to drag these stories out, however its very unlikely any further business will complete.

Thanks.

I doubt that, no disrespect.

hi KMAC - what bit are you doubting? Hopefully I can clarify

In light of my comments not being positive I do expect some people to not agree.

It isn't down to other clubs valuations. It is down to ourselves not picking targets that we as a club can achieve to sign.

LFC have been told for months now VVD is not for sale. Yet they seem to have all there eggs in one basket.

I know not every deal is possible but we need to improve in the right positions. The CB position is a huge flaw in our side. It is the difference between finishing in the top 4 and actually winning a competition.

Hi Jordz - In terms of targets both Lemar and VVD are achievable in the sense they want the club. However Lemar's is purely a valuation problem wheras to an extent I do agree with the "eggs in one basket" comment for VVD. I think they thought they could 'bully' Saints into submission with money and media! - I agree there should have been other options. You can only assume there was but nothing materialised.

I can understand frustration at a lack of back-up options for VVD, but remember - the club has bought a lot of 'decent' CBs for significant investment over the years. Sakho and Lovren both came with great reputations and a £20+M price tag.

Clearly the club thinks the only way to improve this area now is to get the player they see as the ideal fit, no matter how much it costs. Why should they spend on another 'decent' back-up option at CB for what would probably be a minimum of £40M, wasting the money they have set aside for their prime target and potentially leaving the problem still needing to be addressed again next year.

I'm gutted we can't get VVD this Summer, but don't want to see us spend for the sake of it. Save it and try again in Jan/ next summer.

Darrenpike I'm not having a go here but at the beginning of all of that you've said an awful lot without actually saying anything really. you keep mentioning it's difficult and there not being enough time for negotiations etc . A transfer can be a simple or as difficult as the next. People keep saying about VVD isn't moving (he may not ) because the club won't sell him to us, that's absolute rubbish I'm sorry business is business and the new majority owner of soton has already said they need funds to strengthen, so as a business sense which there's all our if an offer to the valuation is made he will be sold to whoever it is that makes it (forget all this apology stuff it's irrelevant at this stage as it's about money now . as for personal terms they can be sorted reasonably quick especially by a player who wants the move, so I don't think saying I don't think there is enough time to do things is correct it's more about valuation and them being met . then you have the medicals side of it. players can be signed subject to them passing a medical which can take place after the window closes if my memory serves me correct.

The ball is firmly in Liverpool court with regards to the 2 players mentioned . if they want then enough they will have to pay for them there is plenty of time to meet the valuations . if they are not for sale (in lemar case ) then again time is irrelevant he won't be sold ( lemar and VVD are totally opposite cases as VVD has publicly tried to leave and has been trying to do so for months now and a club won't keep a player like that as it will have a negative effect around the squad if there valuation is met he will be gone just the same as pip at Liverpool)

Hi Back in the big show

appreciate what you are saying - problem with Southampton, they don't have time to replace now, really the should have accepted early then replaced but ultimately they don't want to sell unless an offer comes in to big to turn down. I agree, no issues with player agreements but negotiations are not as quick as people think

Lemar - very rarely a player is publicised as 'for sale'. But everyone has a price, his price is c£90m its just whether we would go there and I think the club would rather keep Pipco than commit that IMO only.

In summary i'm saying everything is unlikely now as if LFC do stump up big money, the clubs will not have time to sign replacements or to get everything through. You would expect it would need to happen in the next couple of hours really

only sharing but appreciate the input.

Darrenpike. Soton have had since May to find a replacement they have be aware since Feb he was unhappy and looking to maybe move. this isn't something out of the blue for Southampton they have know for a while and have indeed signed a CB in this window.

They wanted an additional centre back regardless of move. I feel they thought they could talk him out of it for at least one more season. Its only since he is training a lone they have had to think about additional signings which I appreciate has been a while.

However, they don't expect to surrender, but if something big comes imagine they will consider it as everyone has a figure in mind (as you said its business) - its just whether they feel they could make the most of the money. I would imagine they agree for next summer of January.
