Hi Eds.
I've heard rumours that Pupco deal to Barcelona is done but won't. be announced until Friday when the Spanish window closes. The rumoured reasons are to try and prevent clubs hiking prices on the back of Pipco fee.
Have you heard same and do you think it' has any truth?
Ta Ed - great work.

{Ed002's Note - That is a perfectly reasonable thing to have heard and I know a nmber of people who are awfully well placed and share that view.}

Thanks Ed, great work.

A very shrewd move from all involved. Good luck to him. It he will have his hands full in a poor Barcelona side (compared to 3 years ago) .

I personally think we are doing great in the market this year. Just need a defender.

Makes sense. FSG saying he'll still be here when the window closes, which he will. Then the Spanish one closes a day later. That's when he'll move.

That does make sense. The main thing is that we actually get a replacement for Pipco.

Ed002, jus told to clarify. So can we still sell a player after England's Thursday deadline of Spanish one closes a day later? Or is it that it would already be done by Thursday but wouldn't be announced til Friday?

{Ed002's Note - Players can be sold at any time, it is the registration of new players that the transfer window relates to. So on FRiday Liverpool could still sell Coutinho to Barcelona (if he hasn't already moved).}

Would that make Thomas Lemar more likely than not? Surely not Coutiniho out and Ox in to replace, that's a big risk if so.

{Ed002's Note - I am not with you. It is unrelated to Lemar.}

Exactly why we are spending so much on Lemar, vvd, keita and ox. Where in the neck did you think that mone6 had come from.

But technically we have swapped cou for ox and keita so far. Add vvd and Lemar and that's the best window we have ever had for me. And the best in the prem.

Ed I understand you saying it's unrelated to Lemar, but if we see Lemar as a direct replacement for Coutinho surely they are related in some capacity? Correct me if I'm wrong just tryna see sense in all of this!

{Ed002's Note - You might want to get out of this "direct" replacement mind set. Interest in Lemar has been very recent and reasonably kneejerk particularly given the interested sides did not see value in the price that was being asked.}

Thing is if we could figure this out then club officials from Europe's elite will figure this out too. And Monaco will for sure haggle hard and Liverpool will pay a club record fee for Lemar. Southampton will get top dollar for VVD too if that materialises.

The late Barcelona interest in Lemar is probably fake too. It's a lot of money for the 21 year old. Arsenal and other clubs didn't want to pay close to that amount. But he could be a real good addition if he settles well. Although can all these forwards fit in the team? Salah, Solanke, Lemar, Mane, Firminio, Lallana, Sturridge.

Good to have options I guess, but will this mean Lemar playing behind Firminio?

Salah, Solanke, Lemar, Mane, Firminio, Lallana, Sturridge, AOC, Winaldum, Henderson, Can, Grujic and Milner into SIX spots. Of course it's a squad game, but there will be some unhappy players.

If we're ambitious that is 38 league games plus another 20 or so cup games across all competitions, maybe more. It is easier to keep players happier across 60 games.
