Can't reveal who told me this as I've promised not to say, but AOC has today told Arsenal he wants to sign for Liverpool this summer and will reject all contract offers they make. It's just down to Liverpool to make an acceptable offer to Arsenal and AOC now which it is expected will happen.

Information comes from a corporate box regular at the Emirates but that is as far as I'm willing to elaborate.

Ball is In our court now. Let's hope LFC don't balls up again.

I hope this is true because AOC will definitely be an upgrade over Milner.
With Klopp talking about moving Milner to midfield, I'd rather have AOC play there. Milner is horrible in the midfield.

25 Aug 2017 14:03:28
That's our problem. Ball ends up in our court and we don't offer the money.

3.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 14:11:57
Having seen Chelsea table a 30m bid, I'm sure we will go in with about 25m and be surprised when it doesn't happen. I don't think AOC will improve our starting 11.

At this moment, even Snoogy Doogy is fine with me.

5.) 25 Aug 2017

This is one I hope we do balls up. We don't need another jack of all trades and master of none.

Thought he was odds on to join chelsea? Id be happy with the ox joining us.

{Ed025's Note - your easily pleased then ste..

25 Aug 2017 14:28:54
At this moment I thin AOC would be an upgrade on Lovren at CB ;-)

{Ed025's Note - so would avi cohen..

25 Aug 2017 14:34:19
To be honest I'd take Ox as his utility will improve and deepen this squad. However his utility does not stretch far enough to him covering Mignolet, Lovren and Moreno.

9.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 14:35:50
If the reports are true that he is unhappy playing as a wing back that should rule out Chelsea's approach unless they are looking at him from a homegrown stand point ed002?

If his preference is a CM/ wide man that suits Liverpool imo. certainly gives us more depth which will be needed with European football to contend with.

{Ed002's Note - It is not really like that. Chelsea would expect him to adapt and he has the benefit to English sides of being homegrown (sounds like a line fron Country Joe's "Paradise with an Ocean View").}

10.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 14:34:59
Ed025 - I just think he would excel playing under Klopp. or maybe its the desperation at the late stage of the window.

{Ed025's Note - the latter for me ste..

25 Aug 2017 14:54:04
the OX has turned down arsenals offer there going to make a desision in the next 24hrs weather to let him leave or keep him. if they keep they won't get a penny next summer.

12.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 15:46:47
Whilst I don't dislike him, if he's turning down supposedly a large pay rise at arsenal it's obviously a move for football reasons solely. The issue here for me is that, in order to choose Liverpool for this reason would surely imply he's got assurances from klopp about playing time and position and I'm not sure I'd have him over those within the starting eleven.

13.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 15:52:50
More than 30mil on an average player with 12months on his contract left seems like crazy money.

He won't be in our starting 11 so not saying Kent is better but is rather give him a chance then spend that amount on ox to sit on our bench.

14.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 16:01:04
I don't mind him as cover/ to challenge for Mane and Salah, and it means we have an experienced winger in case of injury/ rotation requirements (without needing to move Firmino wide), but don't really see him as a great midfield option.

15.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 16:13:20
The idea of him playing in centre midfield actually makes me feel a bit sick. Having seen him play there for Arsenal and England it's a recipe for disaster. He's a very ordinary footballer at best, free transfer to sit on the bench, fine, but 30 odd million starter in centre midfield? No way. There's a reason he isn't an automatic starter in the middle for Arsenal, it's because he's completely ineffective, he lacks the positional sense, the passing ability and doesn't have the all round game.

16.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 16:20:56
Talk of him turning down 180k p/ w is astonishing, more the fact that anyone is willing to pay that.
I would take him at 20m and below in today's market, as he can cover a few positions but is he better than Milner? at this moment I would say no.
He is still young so has improvement in him but that isn't guaranteed and his injury record would worry me.

17.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 17:07:35
To win titles you need more than 1 player per position. (of the same calibre)
If we take Mane, Salah off are we comfortable with who we have on the bench to inject that pace.
I think not.
Id welcome Ox with open arms and id be gutted if we did have an interest in signing him and then we miss out.
Everyone doubted Mane, look at him go.
I think he'd work brilliantly with Klopp.

18.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 17:14:09
I'd have him, just hopefully not for stupid money. Our biggest problem this year will be strength in depth. Having Ox grujic etc playing cup games would hopefully see us through till the latter parts of cup competitions.

19.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 17:31:54
Think he thinks he'll be a starter? Odd!

20.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 17:35:06
The point is Kopette that Oxlade has these delusions that he is going to be a centre midfielder, quite against logic and reason. Personally I'd be happy with Ryan Kent backing up Mane and Salah than wasting £30 off million on him. I'd also contebf that you need top quality in central defence and centre midfield to win titles, that is something we severely lack. Oxlade answers neither of those issues. We've done too much signing of squad filler and bench fodder over the years.

21.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 17:58:14
Thank so for the Info MK I hope was sign Ox would be a good addition imo.

22.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 18:13:19
Get a grip boys, he's a really good player that will excel under Klopp. I believe he will be a great player for us. at least he sticking to his guns and wants a move to better his career. Fingers crossed he wants to come, and we can sort a good deal out.

23.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 18:52:59
Tel1949 isn't that what Coutinho doing?

24.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 20:06:27
Mr Dennis, yea but Barcelona are m*cking about. Offer 150mill up front :-P.

25.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 21:26:31
Defence should be the priority.

26.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 21:34:07
That we could end up selling Coutinho and replace him with a very ordinary and poor footballer like Oxlade Chamberlain is actually a depressing thought.

27.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 23:19:53
So let me get this straight. when we were linked and he went to Arsenal we griped. Now he's loads improved and we don't want him.

28.) 25 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 23:48:09
Never griped when he went to Arsenal wasn't that fussed, about as good as Walcott and wasn't fussed by him either. Oxlade hasn't improved loads by any stretch of the imagination. He's a very ordinary footballer. And possibly the worst option we could consider for centre midfield, he makes Christian Poulsen look effective.

29.) 26 Aug 2017
26 Aug 2017 00:12:53
He was very highly rated on the boards at the time and yes he has improved. Better player currently than Stewart, Lucas, markovic, ojo and any of the young ones who could fill these positions including Grujic. Don't get me wrong, he's not perfect, but he's got plenty of agility and a fair turn of pace, solid ball control and is progressing into a great player. I think with less pressure on him we could see him having the same kind of year Wijnaldum had for us last year, which would be more than worth the money paid.

30.) 26 Aug 2017
26 Aug 2017 00:54:27
His first touch is shocking and his range of passing is terrible. Add to that no defensive nous and no positional sense and you have a player who should be nowhere near centre midfield.

31.) 26 Aug 2017
25 Aug 2017 21:48:29
Ed0025, I enjoy your banter and you can take as well as you give but your Avi Cohen comment was out of line mate.

{Ed025's Note - your right kirkby and i apologize mate, i was looking for a name from the past and his came to mind, i never realized he had passed and would never knowingly disrespect anyone, big faux pas on my part and i feel terrible about that mate..

32.) 27 Aug 2017
27 Aug 2017 08:21:21
Amerigo, where exactly has Ox improved? My friend, you may believe what you like but the rest of us have eyes and can see quite clearly that Ox has not improved one iota. He was a winger, yes but why is he now playing at wingback? Could it be that it is cos he has failed at that position? He has scored 6 goals in 6 seasons. You call that improvement? Really? The guy wants play in CM as a starter. That must be some kind of sick joke. Why? Who will he start ahead of at LFC? Can, Hendo, Wiji, Lallana, Cou? Tell me who? He is definitely not better than Mane, Salah or even kent out wide. Come on, man you will never convince me or many that Ox is better than any of these guys.

Ed0025, only just noticed your reply. I appreciate your apology and of course I accept it. Understand completely.

On a lighter note, I might need to change my humorous (but slightly facetious) comment of the Blues finishing 7th. I can see them above Arsenal and Spurs for sure and personally hoping they finish above the rubbish so 3rd and 4th wouldn't be too bad for Merseyside! Love the banter between Blues and Reds, know some great Blues lads and hope they have a good (but not above Liverpool good) season. Cheers mate.

{Ed025's Note - nice one kirkby, yeah it would be nice if we could give the mancs and chelsea a run for their money mate, liverpool are looking strong especially in attack but we need a forward badly if we are to be up there..but heres hoping..
