I've posted a few posts on here saying that a player who doesn't want to be here doesn't deserve the fans adulation. There is truth In that BUT. if I'm honest, I really thought he was going and it would have hurt. I was trying to reset my mind set on the situation so that when the inevitable happened it wouldn't come as such a dissapointment. But there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel now. There is serious hope for us reds fans that he will stay. Let's hope to god that he does because I'd be lying if I didn't say he is MASSIVE for us.

I still think he'll be made to stay UNLESS Barcelona pay £130m or more.
He's definitely not injured in my opinion.
A back injury is the easiest "injury" excuse to not play or train properly and sit tight.
If he's doing it on the advice of his agent, he should be docked wages while he is doing this.
I totally understand he wants to leave and it's his dream etc. but he needs to be professional until it's done, same with Van Dijk by the way. When you're moving jobs, you don't call in sick for your full notice usually so footballers should be no different.
Perhaps buy-out clauses should become part of contracts in England like they are in Spain, can it hurt to try?

If I remember wasnt wijnaldum a number 10 at feyenord before he went too newcastle and he prob had best season in his career I remember even man utd were linked with him, also I can't understand why we ain't going for a destroyer like william carvalho he would help in quality an aerial ability in set peices.

Can't understand the decision to keep him! You've got to have players with the drive to play for you, not hope that he cares enough about the World Cup to put in a bit of a shift.

Gonna be some bad blood within the team at this rate sadly. going to be a longgg end of transfer window I think!

I agree his timing wasnt great before 1st game of season, but you also fail to mention it was after the club had released a statement saying he would not be leaving.

Look at it from a humane point of view, you have a job opportunity abroad with nice weather and higher chance of success in job and you want to go, yet your current employer has told you that your not going, how would any of us feel, probably not too happy?

He has been a model professional since he has been with us, never causing any trouble and has put the effort in. I wouldn't believe majority of the rubbish that the media come out with, none of us really know what is going on.

From the clubs point of view his value will only increase next year going by the way the market has been this summer. If he stays he needs to perform to be in Brazil's WC team, where he will give his all to help them win it. I fully expect him to leave in the next year but 12 months time seems more likely to me.

So hailstones by your own description of Phil being a snake would you agree with buying another couple of snakes in VVD an Keita? Buy snakes get snakes if that's the logic.
I can't agree that any are "snakes". Players should be allowed move if they want to move. Phil wants to go let him go, same with VVD and Keita although if both arrive at Liverpool see how long they stay before doing the exact same when someone better comes along. Loyalty in football is dead from a player perspective and rightly So, clubs are employers and players employees. I'd leave my job in heartbeat if a better offer came along am I a snake? I think most people would be if that was the case.
Granted from a club/ fan perspective timing is wrong but in fairness Phil didn't dictate that.

Let's be clear here ed 2 has been stating for over a year now Liverpool knew for over a year that coutinho wanted to leave. So let's not pretend he's just threw it on us before the Watford game.

Hello flying meerkat ya know wat u are absolutely rite an spot on in everything u say, football is full of snakes from players too agents too owners too even some managers, I suppose my words are born out of frustration at the club as a whole our squad is thin an we are in europe an we all knew we had too strengthen an the most obvious thing in the world is our defence we absolutely screwed up the whole vvd thing which was criminal an for the club too allow that an make us look like the biggest fools going baffles me, I wudnt of minded if we sold phil earlier but replaced him an bought wat we need, my apologises for sounding negative its cos wat phil is doing is hurting the team on pitch an I hate that cos its my team I love, I want us too go forward an not stand still phil could help by showing respect we deserve it.

Funny how stories about him telling Klopp he'll never play for LFC again are believed, even though they have no more basis for belief than the kind of stuff that gets dismissed on here on a daily basis as made up nonsense. Especially since apparently he hasn't talked to Klopp for 6 months, is sulking and not going anywhere near the club and I'm sure someone will have said he is not injured but house hunting in Spain. People believe what they want to believe and that is why the media prints BS constantly. As the sensible people say, I'll believe it when someone with some credibility says it is true.
