Hi ED'S Im in a group and this guy always saying he's got a inside source of someone that works in Liverpool and this what he said today .

I would like your feedback please

Liverpool are talking to Barcelona. Liverpool deny this but there has been communication this week.

Fenway are not pushing to sell but have said if he goes it has to be £100 m plus.

Liverpool are trying to compromise on an exit next summer but they want the fee agreeing now and made binding so that Barcelona can not walk away or change the terms of the package.

Joorabchian has given his word to Barcelona that a deal will be reached this month.

Henry has said he will be very disappointed if senior management fail to retain Coutinho. They fear a backlash.

The general consensus is that Edwards is struggling but they are still hopeful of him concluding further deals before the window closes.

Klopp has said if Coutinho goes, he (Coutinho) goes. He has said it's not ideal timing but there isn't a wiff of any problems between him and the owners. They are working on 3 players. I am not hopeful of these happening, certainly not all of them.

Thanks for all the hard work ED'S.

{Ed001's Note - true, true, false, no idea, no idea, false (he is new and he has a lot to do though I would prefer another to come in alongside purely for the footballing side of things personally, no one at the club is judging him yet), true.}

Thanks ED001.

Whoa seriously? Klopp has said he will walk if Couts goes? Guess I have to be kinda glad about that. Will FSG seriously consider losing both our best player and our manager this window? Surely not.

{Ed001's Note - what no. Read it again.}

Thanks Ed, are those three players still VVD (subject to Southampton agreeing to accept his transfer request and being willing to speak to Liverpool), Keita (Maybe with Coutinho money in hand can try again? ) and Ox?

If this is right, else you can think of as two of those seem to rely on a major change of heart at selling clubs?

Final question. who are the top 5 players out there right now that you think home clubs would actually be willing to sell at the right price? Ie. excluding those where clubs don't want to sell if they can avoid it. like Coutinho.

{Ed001's Note - yes. No idea.}

Oh I read the last 'true' as Klopp saying if Couts goes then he goes. I'm guessing that is for the still trying to bring 3 players in then. Opening parts of paragraphs threw me off.

{Ed001's Note - yep.}

Ed001 time is running out, at this stage can you see us signing any of those 3? (Vvd, Keita, Ox)

I can only see Ox personally, VVD seems impossible with saints attitude towards us.

Also, do you think the squad is desperately thin, like must other fans?

{Ed001's Note - I can't answer questions about time. No.}

If Coutinho goes, we don't sign any first team players and we don't win anything this season, I can see Klopp going in May.

Ok thank you. But do you feel the squad is too thin?

{Ed001's Note - the no was in answer to that question.}

Ron, then he must be made to stay cos the scenario you put out will be the likely outcome as in Cou leaves and we have no replacements hence, we panic buy or stick with what we have. Good luck breaking down parked buses after selling your best player and one of the best no.10's in the PL.

I don't see the logic in agreeing a fee for next summer, given the exponential rise in transfer fees that we've seen, it would be extremely short sighted if we could get more next summer?

Hi Ed001. You mention you would like to see someone come in alongside Edwards, would Paul Mitchell be a good fit? (Let's not get excited about haircuts again! )

I know him so can tap him up for LFC if the general concencus is a good one, he did brilliantly at Southampton (might help on the VVD deal) and Spurs (might help get Alli) . Plus my fee would be very reasonable 🤣.

{Ed001's Note - he could hardly be any worse than the current bunch!}

Hi frankly - I'm guessing that agreeing the fee and fixing it now in advance of couts moving next year means that both Barcelona and couts are more likely to agree to him staying another 12 months as next year Liverpool won't suddenly demand a fee so high that it makes any move unlikely.

It actually seems a pretty good compromise to me if true as we would still get decent money plus another 12 months of couts and then can find a suitable replacement over the year without having to over pay on a panic buy - plus it gives us a better shot at winning some trophies this year and qualify again for champions league next season to attract a better replacement.

Hope that makes sense!

If, as the original poster implied, we are after Keita, Van Dijk and Oxlade if Coutinho is sold, I can only see one of these happening, RBL won't sell Keita (They have made that very clear, repeatedly that they won't), Southampton will not sell to us after our behaviour previously, which leaves us essentially signing Oxlade Chamberlain as a replacement for Coutinho, which if it is true, would be a repeat of the bodged transfer windows of the past, because he is not at all an adequate replacement and represents an indictment of our rank incompetency at recruitment.

Thing is 1jj, this years £100m could be next years £150m, why cuckold ourselves a lower figure to Barcelona for a fixed amount of money for a player under a long term contract who has no release clause? Besides, a good showing at the world cup would mean his value increases.

17.) 09 Aug 2017

Would assume if a figure is agreed now for a transfer next summer it would take into account the potential for rising value this year. Even by LFC standards someone would have to be thick to not add that into the discussions.

Not really, Frankly. You agree the fee right now and they get him next season so it would be like we sold him but he will stay with us on loan. I propose that people forget about what the fee may or may not be next season as this proposition may be the best way to go for all parties.

Cuckhold? What sites have YOU been on haha?

20.) 09 Aug 2017
09 Aug 2017 11:52:29
I agree frankly that he could be worth more however what if the only way we can get him to stay is to agree to this compromise?

In that scenario, We either sell today for £100m and not have him next season or we would still get £100m and have him play for us for the next 12 months.

Clearly I hope he simply stays with no compromise but
If that's the choice (clearly we are speculating) then I'd go for the compromise. Would you?

I think you're wrong frankly. Totally believe the rbl were just getting as much publicity out of deal as possible. A reliable source said "they told us to bid 66 mil and he is yours" after first bid. People say they don't need the money. That is rubbish, they are primarily a business and 60/ 70 mil is not to be sniffed at. Business's are after one thing. . profits, money. And free advertisements. They have had plenty of free exposure. Time to bite the bullet RB and Southampton.

I think if Phil goes, which j believe he will and thinking with my head. he should go, if we love him like we say we do we should back him when furthering his career, and seeking move to world's biggest club. My heart, however, wants to tie him to the mast until the storm of transfer window has gone.
