Eds,

Thanks for all the hard work as always. Just wondering whether you know if Liverpool have shown interest in Lanzini or whether he is a player we might turn to if Coutinho goes?

By no means a replacement but a tidy player of a similar ilk especially looking at his stats.

Cheers!

{Ed001's Note - not that I have heard of, though West Ham fans seem to be in a flap about that happening.}

Isn't this what we always do, sell a top player and replace them with a very poor underwhelming alternative?

He would be an okay replacement imo. I think he would kick on surrounded by better players and he's still only young.

Tim Vickery was massively bigging up Lanzini the other day. Said if he's given a chance at a bigger club he is more than capable of stepping up. I've not really seen the lad play that much so I'll reserve judgement.

I'm inclined to agree with Frankly, I don't think there is anyone out there that could replace Coutinho like for like (unless we're buying a youngster with potential), if we do sell him I hope its for straight cash so we can see what we can do, it'll be an absolute shame if he leaves because it's clear he's at the centre of everything we do and the team is being built around him. My worry is that we either won't replace him or that we'll replace him but need to rework the system to do so. Maybe if we went back in for Keita with possibly more money to offer up front that could finally tempt RBL to sell?

Give it a rest Frankly. Fed up reading your continuous stream of negative posts, slating every player linked- irrespective of how tenuous that link may be. Quit the bitching and moaning for a while.

I can only assume that you are happy with mediocrity A-Klopp-alypse Now?

No one is forced to read anyone's posts on here. If it's not your cup of tea either ignore it or argue your points in a debate. After all isn't that what football is all about.

No. Not at all. But saying that I'd still support the team even if they were non-league. I don't expect success. I hope for it. I hope every new signing ( even ones I don't personally rate) will prove to be a good fit and bring success to that club. I'm no football expert. What I don't do is constantly berate players even before they've signed.

It's got nothing to do with being happy or not Frankly.
You comment on almost every single post with the same comment about how crap we are and how everyone linked with us is crap, if we lose Coutinho we'll be crap, blah blah blah.
It's tiresome and boring.
You should be ashamed to have your negative mind set and your username together.
Try supporting the team for a change. It's a game, not a life or death situation.

{Ed002's Note - I completely agree with you and I will be deleting many of the repetative posts from now on. As you say it is tiresome.}

I would add that it isn't as if there isn't decent players out there, Insigne for example is a wonderfully gifted number ten, has the same qualities as Coutinho.

Well said A-Klopp

Frankly, everyone's opinions are valid but the constant negative stream is getting a little tiresome.

Clearly things haven't worked out well so far. but in reality we haven't seen much more than Salah, Robertson and Solanke coming in, Coutinho perhaps wanting to leave (which we've known for a while), so at worst we're neutral compared to the team we finished with last year and hopefully some new incomings being worked on as we speak.

Have a whinge then get on with supporting the team shall we?

You're bang on frankly didn't we sign a relatively unknown in coutinho £8.5m who could now be going for £100m, I for one think we'd be ok without him . also in other news VVD hands in transfer request.

Coutinho wasn't really an unknown though was he? Benitez tried to sign him at the time that Inter signed him as he was the next big thing coming out of Brazil and £8.5 was widely seen as daylight robbery when we got him.

Lanzini is hardly an unknown either and is used to playing in the prem.

Coutinho may not have been a complete unknown, but we got him for 8.5 cos no one else would take the 'risk', all transfers are hit and miss, but slagging them off before they even sign is a bit rich.
