Eds, surely if we put a bid in now for VVD it will just start the whole tapping up thing again?

{Ed002's Note - He is damaged goods because of Liverpool and as I have explained on the Southampton page his position is untenable. Southampton are aware of interest from elsewhere and Liverpool's position has been made clear. If they were to go back, withdraw ther statement and make an offer it would not be a complete surprise - but if they were to look to exploit the situation with a low bid I can see the price to Liverpool rising considerably and Southampton would look perhaps to the FA to address an issue they have so far tried to avoid.}

Would it not be in the interest of both parties then Ed02 for Liverpool (As we caused this mess) to do the right thing and ask what Southampton want and just pay it without any low balling or more pi** taking?

Do you think based on Macca's post Liverpool will move forward and pay a substantial fee which is our own doing to make the transfer happen?

Thanks in advance

Jon.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what Macca has written. I have explain what would need to be done.}

What are we avoiding Eds I thought Liverpool was found clear of tapping up?

{Ed002's Note - No, there has been no investigation as of this time. The complaint sits in abeyance.}

I propose we just pay what Saints want and help rehabilitate the mess we have caused by rendering VVD as "damaged goods". We caused this so we should fix this cos the boy does not wanna play for anyone else this season. We kind of owe it to him, IMO.

EDDS, didn't F. A. look at the complaint from soton, but said there wasn't enough evidence to charge LFC, so if that's the case they should be able to bid for him like any other team.

{Ed002's Note - There was no complaint by Southampton to The FA so (a) it is nothing to do with them, and (b) any statement from them seems irrelevant - and I am certainly not aware of them issuing a statement.

Liverpool formerly withdrew their interest in the player in a humiliating public apology. If they wish to withdraw that statement then they can of course.

I really struggle to see why I have to keep saying the same thing over and over and over again.}

Pay the price. Get the player. He is happy we are happy. Then let's hammer Southampton twice this season. Hopefully with Milner scoring a screamer in top corner past that arrogant keeper of theirs.
