Just a quick question. Have we shown any interest in either Jose Gimenez of Atletico or Raul Jimenez of Porto? Brought it up a couple of days ago, but apparently I got the two mixed up, and therefor had som confusing feedback!

{Ed002's Note - Jose Gimenez will likely be available in January but he has dropped down the pecking order. I am not aware of interest. Liverpool had representatives at a Benfica game in December but it was to look at someone else, not Jimenez.}

Eds when you say Jose Jimenez has dropped down the pecking order, do you mean in the Atletico starting XI or Liverpool's interest?

I thought he was not available. I would take him over VVD any day.

you would take him over vvd? a player who has hardly played in a couple of years instead of a proven quality premier league centre back? people see these fancy foreign names and see they play for a hipster club and automatically think they are better option.

VVD is not better than him though IMO. A player is quality if he is premier league proven? Christensen of Chelsea is Bundesliga proven and he is a better CB. If your analogy was correct, Chelsea would have sold Christensen instead of Ake who is PL proven.

There is no way Giminez would be a better option that Van Dijk sorry, he is so unexperienced and has hardly played. Chelsea sold Ake because he wanted first team gaurentees and playing time gaurentees as eds have said.
