Henrique Dalbert has also been considered as a left back option

Leech.

Would be a quality addition as he's pacey, likes to get forward and is left footed. Milner constantly cutting in on his right last season slowed so many of our attacks down I think its vital get a decent left back who can attack but also defend (Moreno's major weakness) .

Unfortunately I think we're looking to spend a large portion of our money elsewhere. I think if VVD falls through and we go for a cheaper option (Mammana) then a more expensive alternative to Robertson as left back is definitely viable.

Dalbert Enrique is off to Inter but Nice still have to agree a fee with the Italians.

I asked about him on the European pages about a week ago. I said I couldn't believe we hadn't been linked with him yet. Don't get your hopes up, Inter have bid and another. I don't know which club Ed002 was alluding to yesterday when he said about two clubs have bid though, maybe Juve as a replacement for Sandro but they had a preferred option at the time. He's rapid, athletic and I certainly wouldn't mind him joining our Brazilian contingent but we haven't looked.

You say we haven't looked Barnesy but this is the problem, why aren't we looking at players like Dalbert who is so much more of a natural fit for our side than Robertson? If better players are available we shouldn't be penny pinching, I can't imagine there'll be a particularly big price difference between the two either.

We could have gotten both Ricardo Pereira and Dalbert form Niece and our FB positions would have been sorted for way less than 70m BUT alas, we are going to sign Robertson and keep Clyne. Go figure.

Have to keep an eye on the homegrown quota aswell. Think we'll have to get either homegrown LB or CD.

He looks like a bullet train. Pacy and a decent left foot. As I mentioned previously how can the club have only a couple options for LB is beyond me!

Spot on Brussels. Two realistic options under a combined £40 mill!

Clyne can improve. If his final ball were better he would be one of best fbs in the country. Good point made that if we don't sign van dyke then we will have more to spend on fbs. I've always suspected we will sign Robertson and on deadline day swoop for gael clichy.

Clyne would also want to learn to defend and stop drifting off in games, sad state of affairs is that those 2 issues still don't stop him being one of the better fbs in premier league. Defending would appear to be an optional extra these days, one that most don't bother with.

Milner performed better on his wrong foot in a position he wasn't comfortable in. If we get a decent left back, then Milner should go to right back, TAA promoted and Clyne allowed to move on.

Dalbert looks a very good wee player. I totally agree that he would be a great signing. If he fancies us I think we should make him out top target in that position. Easily on sessegnon level and better than other lbs who have been linked with with the exception of mendy. I reckon Dalbert will improve with time too.

@Hansen Who should be backup at LB then?

Toxxa: like he said: Milner first choice TAA backup.

Crammie. Toxxa is talking about the back up left back not the back up RB, read the posts properly before trying to correct someone.
