According to Graeme Kelly who's very reliable Robertson will sign this week.

Look, I know Robertson isn't everyone's first choice (including Klopp's), however if JK thinks he can come in and do a job for us I'm all for it.

JK has been able to develop a lot of our squad players from previous managers (Lallana, Milner, Can, Firmino) as well as work on developing new singinings too (Mane, Gini) .

If he thinks he can work with Robertson and bring him on in a similar fashion then for the rumoured cost he could be the answer.

What we need at fullback is someone that is dependable defensively and can put a ball in on his left foot. Robertson could still be that player for us and i hope we all get behind the lad if he does sign regardless of who is as fans might have wanted instead.

If I am entitled to an opinion. I am disaaponted and agree with Ed01 on the player. If he lad comes in ye he comes in and we accept it. He is certainly not my first or last choice!
I hope he prove to be a good signing, else we will have the same issue next summer!

Robertson seems to be this year's Bertrand when Rodgers was linked with him. Everyone said he wasn't good enough etc and wanted young Spanish lad called Moreno! Look how that turned out! Anyway am not saying he is or will be as good as Bertrand and we may not even get Robertson. But if we do I feel he could be a good buy with his age and the price suggested and potential to up his level playing with better players.

For under 10 million, give the lad a chance. We still have Milner and Gomez as back up. Still a step up from Moreno and Enrique in my opinion.

And will delay a big outlay for a year even if he doesn't work out for whatever reason. Give the lad a chance if he signs abs get behind him!

I find it amusing that so many aren't impressed with players like Robertson. A lot of the pundits have given him great reviews but because he plays for a club that's been relegated, he's not good enough for Liverpool. He is young and ok as many have said, he's not first choice but, he's one of 11 players on a pitch and by all accounts he has stood out very well. I'm pretty sure Klopp isn't going to buy rubbish he can't work with. Liverpool is a club that wants to get promising players that they can mould and make into great players. I have every faith in Klopp to deliver. Just look at two players bought last season that have been immense for us. Manè an Gini. THERE was a lot of negativity surrounding both of them. I'm excited because I think the club will buy great players and we will push on again.

I don't care who we sign. The season needs to start. Pornhub servers are going to crash on saturdays at this rate.

Wonder if people had never seen him play and he was called Robertsonino would they be happier?
Taking nothing away from those who have seen him, the little I have must say personally little underwhelmed but open to being proven wrong, wouldn't be the first or last time hopefully 😁.

Why not take a punt on clichy? He's free he's better than a lot of the LB's in the premier league plus it frees up more money for JK. I know he's not everyone's bag but I'd definitely take a chance.

Fair point kingkenny. Just trying to make the point that he seems to have a raw talent and should be given a chance. Always the odd exception but stand by what i say, can't see Klopp bringing in rubbish.

Steven Caulker.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think bringing steven into this is very appropriate IYKM, the guy has had some serious mental health issues to deal with and has been through some very hard times mate, please show some respect..

I will never slag off a Liverpool player I get behind them all, but I will express my opinion of a player who we are supposedly looking to sign. i've watched Robertson play a few times this season and I'm not impressed. the game I remember the most is the palace game. zaha absolutely destroyed him. he was substituted at half time because he was having such a torrid time. imo he is no improvement on Moreno. positionally and defensively poor but with pace and although in possession of a sweet left foot, his distribution is severely lacking.

I just can't understand how in the whole world of LB's we ended up with Robertson as our choice, he's not a bad player but clearly there's much better out there.

Well said ED025. Caulker was incredibly brave to speak up and I wish him well.

Some of our best ever players were signed from lower and lesser league clubs.

Clemence and Keegan came from Scunthorpe and they didn't do too bad.

This is where the manager earns his doe by spotting some quality or potential in thr player and TAPPING INTO IT.

Sorry, I couldn't resist it.

Steven Caulker played through a very bad mental illness. which as a byproduct effects you physically. He did well just to train everyday!

I know klopp was interested in mendy ( who wouldn't be ) but Robertson has been linked since January. He was always going to sign. And I totally agree with other post that he will grow into an an field legend with klopps guidance.

He likes to get forward. He is very controlled on the ball. But. Best of all, he plays with his head up. Simple. People knock the ox too but again he is a player who puts his head up. So important if you wanna succeed at Liverpool. Robertson does have pace too. he's young but not a boy. a young man, just the right age to step up a level. We will sign him then on last day of window we will pinch clichy. Poor lad. Will motivate him though.
