By far he best centre back to be linked with us. For a start he is a left sided centre back. He is though very strong in the air, a brilliant leader, a great tackler, rarely misses a game and is deceptively good on the ball.

Let's not forget that Middlesbrough gave away 60% possession in most games and Gibson was the mainstay in one of the meanest defences in the division despite this constant pressure.

I really hope this is true.

Watched him last season - failed to see what the fuss was about.
From my viewpoint he was often exposed for terrible positional awareness and a lack of anticipation. He had a negative defensive team in front of him and still looked average.
He would need a huge amount of work to be good enough for a top4 team playing in the champions league.
He's MILES behind Van Dijk.
I feel we're better off sticking with Gomez.

I don't like it when people call prem footballers rubbish. Gibson clearly isn't rubbish. Having said that, I don't see him as the answer to out cb problems. No where near good enough to displace lovren or matip. If we're going to spend big in that position let's get the right guy. Vvd for me.
