Just saying that this chap mentioned the Shaw and Chambers deals a couple of years back just as a couple of rumours he hears and they're usually accurate. obviously no more than rumours and can't be sure!

Regarding VVD's contract, he receives a loyalty bonus on the anniversary or his last extension as well as at the end of each contract year, so he's reiceived the first part of that bonus in May and think Southampton would rather he left before the end of the month if he is sure to leave rather that pay a bonus and then sell him anyway.

Personally I'm not sure if it'll work out, espcially given LFC's statement but Southampton are resigned to losing him and want to take advantage of a team grovelling (apparently) .


Just passing on the gossip from Southamptons side, may be nothing of course!

Would be nice if it were true and I'm not disputing if it is. My only concern is that we were already rumoured to be paying a hefty fee. Does this just increase it further?

I've said before I can still see this deal happening. Only time will tell it's a long time until the window closes. It will be a 'following a personal appeal from Virgil we have decided to let him make his dream move' kind of thing. Good PR for them and they've made their point about not taking crap from the big boys in the process.
