There is rumours circulating that Liverpool have had a €20m bid for Stefan de Vrij rejected by Lazio, this would be a cheap alternative to Virgil Van Dijk, Lazio apparently want €30m!

Quality CB imo. Better value for money than VVD at half the price. Lazio want 20 million plus for him but he would be worth it coz he also possesses leadership qualities.

I asked ed01 who he would prefer to vvd after he had said why he didn't think vvd was right for us- de vrij was the player named as a realuatic alternative.

Not aware of any link (I thought he was Milan-bound? ), but he is a good player who's improved considerably and probably does represent better value if Southampton is now demanding £70m.
