Hi Eds

On the left back situation has our interest totally died in Jordan Amavi of Aston Villa? Would be a far better shout than Andrew Robertson.

{Ed002's Note - There is no remaining Liverpool interest in Amavi. Klipperty still has the Klopps for Robertson.}

I really think Robertson will shine at Liverpool. He's going to be joining a pretty special defence project. And at the reported 8 mil he's a snip compared to 35+ for mendy. If it were your money what would you do? I love the club but is mend 4× the player Rob is? I don't think he is. I want a great squad but felt pride at lfc being "in the black" this season. While giving city and Chelsea an attacking lesson. I'd take lacazette though :)

ed001 - did you have an opinion of robertson mate? I think you said somewhere that you've seen him plenty of times, but not sure if you gave an assessment on him?
thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - I have given an opinion on him countless times. He is not a player that impresses me.}

You really do think differently to me. I think fullbacks are really important for us especially for those games that needs 'unlocking'. I would spend all I need to get who I wanted. I would take Alaba and Alves, but because Alaba won't leave Bayern for us, Mendy would be my second choice. If not then perhaps Jordi Alba. But really i hunk we need to get excellent fullbacks to compete. Robertson won't do.

{Ed001's Note - why Alba? Jordi Alba is hopeless.}

I'd take Jessica Alba.

For me Milner deserves the left back role, he earned it last season, sound defensively and going forward. Plus he can take free kicks and pens. His experience will be vital and has to stay in the team. I can't see him playing anywhere else. Save the cash and get the Ox.

Ricardo Rodriguez? Quality player playing for a team that has just had to play in a playoff to avoid being relegated. Not blessed with incredible pace but a great defender and he has as good a final ball from free kicks and crosses as anyone.

Milner has now become predictable in attack for opposition teams. Defensively he is decent and has done well for the new role.

Plus Milner's crossing and Corners are excellent. 1 goal in evey 3 croses 😎.

Id still rather get a left footed player for the left. Too predictable down that side with everyone pulling back onto right foot. Milner I'd be happy to see used a RB as TAA is brought through if that was the only alternative to Clyne day dreaming through games.

I'll be happy if we sign Robertson, thought he looked a decent player in a rubbish Hull side, good defensively and quick to get forward with a decent left foot. Don't see him starting ahead of Milner though. I'd also be happy with Milner starting the season as first choice LB, thought he was excellent last season. Hope we push through with Van Dijk deal now, unbelievable signing, crazy money Southampton making on him.

Concerning Milner, while i imagine he isn't a complainer at all, i don't think he wants to stay at left back.
He also strikes me as a player who doenst mind battling for a place in his preferred position. or left or right of that position :)
