Well now the Echo are reporting that reports last night of VVD agreeing to City were very premature.

And just to add on that, who actually reported that? The Mirror? They're not even reliable!

I wouldn't be surprised if a supposed agreement with City fell through because VVD was like, 'No, please Soton! I don't wanna go to City! Let me go to Liverpool! '

Maybe more suited to the eds but open to anyone.
Do you think there is an element of panicking from all clubs.

A scramble to get deals done. Huge amounts of tv money. I get this is now how the market looks in terms of money but a player can have 1 good season and see his value rocket, do u think clubs launch money at a name rather than having a detailed look and spending the required time to make sure the player suits.

Are teams buying best available and not best foe the system.

{Ed025's Note - i think they are lee, clubs are certainly offering over the odds for players because they dont want to lose out...and aint them scumbag low life agents just loving it?..

I think this may be true, pay the fee now, clubs accept cos they have time to replace, wait any longer and they may be forced to pay even more or go for a second of third choice down the line and pay an equally large sum, just for someone else who wasn't first choice.

Agents do this all the time in order to essential set the starting price on a player before the club (in this case Southampton) can do it for them. It typically provoked a bidding war. You'll notice that nobody bit. That's very telling.
