Erm worst thing i have read today.

Crippling tbh. Went light headed an all that.

Mendy wanted us! The most sought after lb probably in europe wanted us and we have lost him now.

Same with vvd and probably with salah.

Tbe ox tho, why. he's always injured. Has sporadic good games where he performs bu5 there so few and far between. Unless its a 7 mil deal then im noy happy with that one.

{Ed025's Note - well...as long as your happy.. :)

"Has sporadic games where he performs"

So just like Gini when he was at Newcastle?

So many people knocked that transfer when he came in but Klopp saw something and he has become a very important part of the first team.

Yes the Ox's injury record is an issue but he's still young. He bulked out way too fast in my opinion and caused stress on his body by doing so. It looked like he was being compared to Walcott too much and as such he decided to bulk up to differentiate himself.

Put on the right training regime for him and I think lots of his fitness issues will go.

Arsenal always seem to have these sort of issues with a number of their players, I wouldn't be too concerned.

This does not take the spotlight away from the point being made. We are an old elite club with midetable wage structure and can't hope to compete with the moneyballers yet. Much as we would like to believe otherwise, the owners are in this for the money and would always have that at the back of their minds. One thing we can be happy about is that we have a wonderful coach who actually improves a team. So be rest assured that whoever he brings in (no matter their cost), would improve the team.

{Ed025's Note - yeah kick those yanks into touch and get the venkys in or even thaksin shinawatra, maybe peter risdale would fancy it?...have a day off mate..

Losing out on mendy is disgraceful.

Again th3 ox an wij aren't comparable.

Wij won the dutch league title hitting double figures then moved to newcastle where he had agai hit double figures.

Ox has had 4/ 5 years in the prem and barely played through injury. Never been that good. Abd as i said had sporadic good games.

Mid table wage structure? hopefully Eds can correct me if I'm wrong but we are the third highest wage payers in the league, and eds have repeatedly stated we need to sell first, I'm not happy with the changes in mind, contract wise but 180k for VVD wow, players are going where the money is and not for reasonable amounts but extortionate in my opinion, what happened to players that wanted to pull on the shirt and create their own history I'd wait for those players over high priced no heart, transfer to another team when the trophies aren't coming in types football is changing power wise an not for the better can't wait for a wage cap.

"Midtable Wage Structure" Are you serious? Our wage bill is around £200 million. That is in the top 10 of world football. Juventus have a wage bill of £181 million, Atletico Madrid £86 million and Spurs £120 million. You should really start doing your research before you start spouting rubbish. The fact is we have been mugged off in the past with high wages, agent fee's etc. The club needs to get this under control.

Like has been said previously by others, I don't want a high wage culture at the club where every player is looking over their shoulder at how much their team mates are getting paid. Pay competitively but not stupidly.

Couldn't agree more Wirralred, I know everyones a fan but it helps to actually look into our clubs well being in all areas before demanding we give players what they want, your an owner whos already shells out 200m for current players that just about scrapped into the UCL is the idea to pay more or to get more for your money, I know what I'd do, I personally think the money teams like city and united pay for transfers and wages is ridiculous a 40-45m GK jog on son.

Ive said it on numerous occasions, that FSG are all about the money. I remember asking the eds if Klopp would get the full backing, to which u replied yes. There is no point agreeing to pay a transfer fee when you won't pay the wages, and to keep leaking it to the Liverpool Echo that we are going to spend X amount. Give it a rest FSG and stop trying to make a fool out of us fans.

Anyone know what Mendey was asking for? I mean if it was £100,000 a week I'd say we probably should be paying that, if it was £200,000 perhaps we've done the right thing.

People realize that FSG brought Klopp in aye? He didn't just fall out of yhe sky or force JWH and co to make him manager or else. and yea, in't funny how the guys who invest the money are about the money? I wonder why. take eds advice and forget money.

I think so many people miss the point when it comes to this topic. Regardless of whether FSG are in it for the money or not, the only way for them to get to the money is by building a strong profitable and sustainable business that demonstrates continuous growth. In other words a club that can finance itself whilst continually improving on and off the pitch. Isn't this what we all want? If we want to dominate at the top end for years to come we need to have a solid foundation. Be patient we are moving in the right direction.

Exactly Slimz. Making money and being a competitive / successful title-challenging club are not mutually exclusive.

Bottom line is nobody knows anything about the negotiations and people like the OP and Xpertoyin, need to stop spouting rubbish about the owners not paying the crazy wages players want. No one knows how much mendy was offered and how much more City put in for him and if he wants to go there then so be it.

We have been mugged in the past and we are trying to put a lid on things bu the FIFA Manager generation just can't figure that out as all they know is buying players for whatever wages on a video game. We need to be competitive in our wage offers and we must learn to live within our means. "A midtable wage structure". Utter nonsense and shows that you know nothing about LFC's wage bill as more successful clubs than ours don't even pay what we pay. Like Ed said, have a day off, X. You need it.
