Have it on very good authority from a former player and close friend of his father that Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to be a Liverpool player and negotiations are advanced.

Personally think if we can get him for a reasonable price he would be a decent àddition.

{Ed025's Note - is there such thing as a reasonable price these days erroll?..

I agree erroll I believe he would be a decent signing too, could fill a few positions when there are injuries side to his versatility. Still question marks over his own injury record. Still think he'd be worth a punt, no more than 25 mil though.

Play him rb like in ge final?

He played left back in the final and was awful.

Play him on the right wing or in attacking midfield where he is best.

he is bang average, we shouldn't even be having this conversation, we need top quality if we are to get to the next level, we recruited badly the last time we made the cl, let's not make the same mistake again, our rivals will be buying the very best, we need to do the same.

Well for a start he can cover either wing and CM so for me it's a win win if we get him for no more than 25mil.

All depends on price, 15-20 million not a bad squad player to have. wouldn't suggest he would displace the front 3/ 4 when all are fit.

People slagging off signings like this are not seeing the big picture, he is a reliable, experienced premiership player that's willing to graft for his team. You can't sign a while squad of world beaters, you need utility players that can cover multiple positions and work horses to get you through a season. IF he signs it will add a better depth to our squad so we aren't reliant on filling the bench with 16/ 17 year olds for champions league because of injuries.

Good business in my opinion.

So spend up to 25 million on someone who is high risk at getting injured to cover injuries?

How can he be reliable when he is often injured, Creg? Also when fit, he is still not good enough and won't start ahead of any of or first eleven. If it is for depth then that is another discussion BUT for now, he is not good enough and will not be a plus to our squad. KK is right on the money here and no, Ox will not be a good piece of business.

We have Milner who is a better utility player, surely the £35m quoted would be better spent elsewhere?
