Ed002 is right. Salah plays on the right wing for AS Roma (done pretty well so far) . We need a left winger, hence the interest in Brandt.

As much as he's improved, his end product is still lacking somewhat but his pace and dribbling are great, would prefer Mertens or Insigne though myself.

Melissa Reddy has also reported that we are seeking alternatives for Brandt as he is concerned about regular first team football. And salah and oxlade-chamberlain are who we are looking at as possible targets.

Hey ed, these recent days rumours have been spreading that Brandt has turned us down due to the issue you mentioned some time ago - concerns over playing time. Do you know if this has happened, or is there still hope he would come to us? Also, were there any other alternatives for the lift winger position apart from Rafa Silva?

Salah is 'Awful'?

He may be many things. he may be a player you don't rate but anyone that scores 17 goals and gets 14 assists in one season at a club like Roma isn't awful. He's not the same player that we saw at Chelsea. I do worry that Serie A plays to his strengths being so laboured and defensive at times. He had a decent return last season as well so its clearly not a one off. He's nearly always playing on the right or just in behind Dzeko so another worry is he's not really a dedicated Left Winger which would be my reason for preferring Brandt who plays far more on that side and can drive from a deeper position which we lack at times.

I actually think he'd work great in a Klopp team though if he were brought in. He has pace to burn, a high workrate and can press well. Similar player to Firmino in many ways. I think he would be a better addition than Oxlade-Chamberlain though personally. If he could adapt to a left position then it could work well.

If we were going for a Chlesea reject winger, Schurrle would be the only real potential choice.
