I think he is different then Moreno has good delivery and doesn't do crazy lunge tackles.

{Ed001's Note - but he doesn't work back to get in position to do crazy lunges most of the time when I have seen him.}

Ed001 Moreno is a dangerous, rash and reckless player with his tackling and has no pitch intelligence.

Rodriguez is just another attacking full back (like most are across Europe) who gets forward but struggles defensively. He does have very good delivery though, especially from set pieces which we don't have from a left footer.

He is not reckless like Moreno at all - but then who is? 😂

However, I agree that maybe we should be setting out sights on a fullback that offers more defensively too.

{Ed001's Note - he is rash, but in the way he charges forward rashly and leaves gaping holes. He is another crap full back that is over rated because he looks good in highlight vids and on video games. He is little to no improvement over Moreno defensively. His only improvement would be that he would not be there to make the rash tackles, but sometimes those rash tackles work, so it is only sometimes better that he doesn't make them. He is a slight improvement going forward, but still nothing special. We would be better off with an attacking player getting in those positions in the final third and keeping the defence intact.}

That is the problem, everyone wants wing backs and not full backs. Never understood why so many people pick at Flannagan when he is a FB and his primary skill is defending. The club is full of attacking players, if none of them can deliver a through ball or cross from what the FB supplies them then WTF were they bought for?

Like Ed001 said, most fullbacks in Europe today are gung-ho forward at every possibility, Clyne too! He have just learned to wait before speeding up along the touchline.

Wouldn't a defensive midfielder (like medel, but with speed) help that issue?
Could let both wingbacks up high and still have 2,5-3 players home at every time. Until the speedsters return to defend on either end.?
Seem to work for a lot of other teams, shouldn't that work for Liverpool as well?

I'd love to have offensive fullbacks and a world class defensive midfielder. Carvalho would be fantastic! IMO.
