{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

I hope not. Permanently injured and worse than Moreno.

Certainly an improvement on Moreno. Whether that means he is good enough for us in the long run that's another question.

Whenthereds, you must be joking. Gibbs is awful and poorer than Moreno and can't beat out an average Monreal and keeps getting hurt. We're he not English, no one will care about him. Rather play Milner there than Gibbs.

Maybe its me being an optimist but I think Milner might surprise us at LB this year. He is a tireless runner (a must for modern day fullbacks), he can use both feet (unlike Moreno) which means he should have better body positioning defensively than Moreno (who tends to position his body to cater for his left foot), better passer than Moreno, is a good crosser and should be able to read the game better than Moreno.

He does have weaknesses (eg he is slower than Moreno, seems to be prone to losing his temper and making rash tackles) but I can't see what's to gain by bagging him when the season hasn't started. Yes neither he nor Moreno are superstars but then again LB seems to be in very short supply so as long as they are dependable, that will do for the moment.

He was one of our best players in the USA Tour, and was at Left Back!

slow and susceptible to bad tackles. Not what we need in defence at all. sry but we need to go all out for hector, expensive but proven quality in my opinion.

@Grinchy I'm not sure Hector is proven quality. A good player sure, but nothing like what some posters on here make him out to be!

When has he proven himself? Hector is the only fullback of any remote quality Germnay have hence the use of Howedes and Can there as cover from central positions. Rudy and Schemlzer are very average.

Hector is positionally superior to Milner as it is his day job and more used to defending than Milner - not saying we should assume a good fit for Liverpool but he would be better than Milner there. Milner being slow and stupid tackler isn't that bad when you consider Moreno is fast and still subject to stupid tackles.

We are now also being linked with Kieron Gibbs former injury room team mate Thomas Vermaelen. I highly doubt that there is any truth in either arriving as it is injuries which cause the vast majority of our issues.

If Gibbs was going to be the difference between 6th-8th and top 4 Arsenal wouldn't be considering him to be surplus.

Vermaelen stopped being a good player a year before he left Arsenal. Gibbs has never been a good player. If we waste money on them then the world has officially gone mad.
