Hi Ed's, I've been watching sissoko of Newcastle / France during the euros and he has really stood out for me as a hard working industrious midfielder that can play all across the park. Do you know if Liverpool hold any interest?
Whoever gets him I think they'll get a very good player.

{Ed001's Note - he is not that hard working, Newcastle would love to get rid, but no interest from us. He wants to join Arsenal.}

Wondered how long the calls for Sissoko would take! Thought it would take until at least after the game! One semi decent international game doesn't make a good player he goes missing for 95% of the games he plays in.

That Nani looks a good player, wonder if Klopp has seen a video of him yet 😂.

He plays better for France than ever did for Newcastle. Easier to get yourself up for the odd international. Not a player that can run through a rut. No place for him at Anfield. The link is obviously just Liverpool's name being used to drum up interest, as happens so very often to us. Our forward options are complete unless Markovic gets sold. Personally, I'd like to see him given the season to get the chance he never got and wasn't ready for in the first place.

About time Arsenal signed a French player! He was good tonight, but his attitude must be awful considering he's barely made a dent all season.

He's a shocking player, ask any sane Newcastle fan and they will tell you he is a complete waste of space. He went missing for several years while at Newcastle. He is not even an upgrade on any of current midfielders. A few good games doesn't make someone a very good player, you have to be consistent and he lacks this in abundance.

I believe at 1 point he was seen as a Gerrard replacement right?

I think a few are being harsh on him he has had many good games. He was immense tonight and for Pogba being a 100 million player sissoko stood head and shoulders above him. He may have gone missing for Newcastle the odd time but that was Newcastle and things clearly were not right there. I wouldn't be going all out to buy him but I'd also give the lad a chance show if he could and would put in performances like he has done in these euros in more often.

Kopdogs, it isn't that he has gone missing now and then for Newcastle, the Sissoko you watched last night has simply never arrived in Newcastle.
Did you not listen to Alan Shearer, who knows a thing or two about Newcastle, confirm as much?

Puttin the ed-siding comments aside. sissoko is a good player and can be a driving force for most midfields in the prem. If we disnt already have can, hendo and milner then acquiring sissoko may have made some sense. But otherwise it doesnt.

Would point out that Milner is NOT a centre midfield player and we always look vulnerable when he does play there.

Thing to also consider is what they do at club level, all very well to perform in an international side, but we wouldn't be buying him to perform amongst internationals or necessarily to the same system as France. We'd be signing him for a lot of money to perform week in/ week out at club level. He has failed to do that for anyone else. People saying Newcastle is different are playing the game Rodgers played with Balotelli, and got his fingers well and truly burnt from it.

If you want sissoko then your best keeping lallana, really that simple.

I don't tend to listen to much others say and try to form opinions for myself. Sissoko is a decent player, the fact is he was very good in the euros. I know he was average for Newcastle last year. I have watched him play many times and he has been good. The season before last he was consistently good. I don't understand people writing him off as if he can't improve, his performance and effort. Don't think we need him atm as can is the exact same type of player.

International football is like a different game to the premier league. International football is like Test Match cricket and the premier league is like Twenty20.
The pace is completely different so anyone who looks great in international football will not necessarily be able to reproduce it in the premier league (ahem) *pogba* (ahem) .

He's a French international. Who starts! He's not a bad player!
