Have to say I'm a fan of Benteke but if he's not in Klopp plans I would take that we only play palace 2s and hopefully he scores against are rivals. Was hoping it would work out for him . But that's not bad business by fsg to get that much and buy mane for 34mil .

If you look at benteke's scoring rate he's a pretty good striker, and he has a proven PL track record.
He made 14 apps this season and got 9 goals. Over a full season he's a proven 20 goal striker, and they do not come cheap.
Just because he doesn't fit klopps system doesn't mean he won't go on to get plenty of goals for another club as he did for villa, if they can adapt their game to suit his less mobile style of play.

Yeah in fairness he won a few points for us, but glad he's leaving for a team which he should do well in. Bet he's just glad he's not at villa.

His strike rate is as good as Sturridge and he's not injured as often so like him or loathe him he does carry a hefty fee. It's no surprise to me.

Got too say I'm absoutly made up with this news, always will say Benteke is good player however was never going fit into our style play I felt, but if offer accepted which surely will then that's the Mane money back and I think overall reds need be happy with this, hopefully now get another cm if Lucas or Allen leave and course Lb .

I think this is a good place for Benteke to go to, Pardew proved he knows how to use a big striker with Andy Carrol. And to poster above, yes, Palace are desperate for a striker, they signed Adebayor and if my memory serves me well, strikers kept getting injured. Also history proves it's hard to stay up without a decent striker.

Your stat of 10 in 42 apps is quite poor for a striker bought for a fortune. Also, the stat doesn't include the games where he missed complete sitters, was severely poor in or was just not showing desire or hardwork. These are the reasons why stats mean nothing. I watched almost all his games and frankly, he is his own worst nightmare. Benteke is a striker who needs all the work done for him to score as in, everyone does the hardwork and he doesn't have to do anything else but show up and score. U will not survive with that type of attitude in a big club with high expectations. How many times were we in a good position to cross and Benteke was still jogging far behind or never made the runs or was still getting glued to the CB's? Your stats don't tell you any of that, does it? Bottom line is that he should never have been signed as I wanted Bacca and the fact that Firmino played better than him in his first season in England shows that the guy is as lazy, lacks desire to succeed. Palace is his level and all the best to him. As for the poster who compared Benteke's strike rate to Studge 's, you have no idea what you're talking about.

People seemed to have looked at Benteke's 14 starts in the league and thought he got 9 goals in them. Well he didn't! In all comps in 16 starts he scored 4 goals. Not exactly a great record, especially when you consider the amount of one on ones he missed. A good player in the right system but nowhere near Sturridge's level, shocking statement to even compare their strike rates.

He'll suit Palace since he's effectively Wickham with the ability to score goals, with the wingers they have and style he'll do well for them.
