I believe he also trained with Liverpool at the time too?

{Ed002's Note - His is turning in to a complete flake and I cannot envisage Klopp being interested in him - if he is then he has really lost the plot.

Having had some time to demonstrate his immaturity in Madrid, Martin Odegaard needs to get out on loan and get some game time for a while. Getafe were offering that but he wasn't interested. Bayern Munich were providing the offer of a more permanent solution for him but I suspect Carlo Ancelotti has put and end to that. Hamburg might provide a more sensible solution.}

The kid has left a bad impression on me ever since he decided to go to Madrid. If was rational, why would a 16yo go to Madrid and then expect game time? Who the hell does he think he is? Albeit, not many 16yo footballers are rational. But it should have been obvious to him that Madrid was a stupid and impulsive career move.

{Ed002's Note - He went to Madrid for a commercial reason Nick but he is not one Liverpool should be looking to.}

Ødegaard has a lot of belief in himself, and he felt that the plan Real Madrid sold him was the best option. that's why he went there.
Real on the other hand did it just for the publicity.
I would call him naive, but not immature for his age.
Agree with Ed that he should go out on loan.

{Ed001's Note - he went there for the money, not because he has belief in himself. He knew it was the best option to get big commercial deals in his home country. It was not about belief in his ability at all.}

Hilarious quote from Ancelotti. "When Florentino buys a Norwegian footballer, you simply have to accept it, .

"Furthermore, the president decided that he would play three games with the first team as a public relations exercise.

"He could be the best player in the world, but I don’t care because he was not a player who I asked for. That signing was to do with PR. " (quoted in AS. )

The boy might be becoming a bit of a flake but Perez ordered the ice cream and stuck the flake in.

Real Madrid are not a football club. They're a PR company.

The kid was never ready, believed in his own hype and is now where he is due to his very own fault.

Carlo the eyebrow has confirmed his signing at Madrid was purely PR exercise. He doesn't rate him.

Not that interested but more curious, wonder what fee Madrid would expect? Surely can't demand that much for the flop.

It is not true that Ødegaard went for the cash, he is a hardworking young kid who was promised the world by Perez, also they brought in his father as a coach to make it easier for him to make the move. Things have not worked out good for him, but it is not like its Ødegaards fault as it is made out to be here. He went to early, but is still 18 years of age and has the potential to be special.

{Ed002's Note - It is very largely his fault for it going as badly as it has gone.}

Such a shame that a kid filled with so much talent. sold himself out before his career could even take off.

I have followed Ødegaard since he was 11-12 years old, i have seen him playing practice matches at senior level aged 13 were he absolutely destroyed the opposition almost alone. He was training with Mjøndalen, were he was setup against there best defense at training so that they had something to struggle against. He is very mature for he's age, and the most dedicated youngster i have seen in Norway. he was even told by Strømsgodset that he had to step down his training hours so he could get enough rest. After he's move i have not spoken to him or his father, but i just can't see this personality change all of a sudden. This sounds like a lot of BS to me.
