Allegedly we've had a 7m bid rejected for Chilwell, Leicester want 10m.

To be fair I'd be happy if we paid 10 for him. Not bad at as all.

How good is Chilwell? doesn't seem to have played many games at all yet some people seem to think he can come straight in to our first team? i'd be a bit worried if our best leftback option next year was a 19 year old with 11 games experience, but then again I've never seen him play.

What has he achieved for a £10m price tag? Does having an English passport put £6-£7m on your head?

He is a £3m player at best. Our Teixeria at £400k has achieved more in the game.

What is Ibe worth if Chilwell is £10m? £50m? More?

Didn't we sign full England international right back Clyne, with over 100+ EPL games under his belt cost around £12m? Rate Clyne or not but compare cvs for your money and put forward a case for £10m on Chilwell.

Please hope we walk away.

{Ed001's Note - who cares what we paid for an average England right back who was coming to the end of his contract and asking for a transfer? What has that to do with the transfer of anyone else? Why do people have this notion that one deal has anything to do with another? The question should be whether or not Chilwell is the player believed to be the answer to our left back problem. If so, pay what it takes. I don't care how many caps he has or how many games he got, I just care if Klopp thinks he is the right man for that role.}

LB needs to be priority not a kid that is 2 seasons away from being competitive enough to challenge Moreno and that's IF he gets to that level. No PL experience and one good half against Spurs second string and now worth £10m? Hector is a full German international and only worth £20m Leicester been watching our performance in the transfer market when we buy from Saints and thought we'll have a but if that. Might be a bright young thing but LB is not somewhere we need to be gambling on.

{Ed001's Note - if Klopp decides he is the right option, then how can you, who has clearly never seen the lad play, tell us different? These asinine comments slagging off a player people have never seen, deciding what quality or lack of he possesses out of pure ignorance and stupidity, are just ridiculous. Hector is a full German international who has not played well in the league in about 25 games I have watched him play, that is why he is not worth much.}

Eds I have seen both play and Chilwell is lightyears away from Moreno's so isn't going to be competition for a couple of seasons at least. My issue is the cost for such little experience it has nothing to do with the kids quality. I'm not just some ignorant kid who is just after huge signings. I have been behind the signings of Grujic and Zielinski. If we had a quality LB and the kid was cover then great, he's worth a go but as we need an improvement then even at £10m it just seems a bit much. As I've said before, the window isn't open yet I'm waiting to reserve my full assessment come August.

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but I think you are massively overrating Moreno if you think the lad will not compete with him. As for suggesting he is not a quality LB, I will take the word of Steve Walsh over yours any day. The guy who picked out most of the players for Leicester rates him very highly, that will do for me.}

If Chilwell is the guy that Klopp thinks can fix our LB issues, then pay the money and move on. Klopp's former lieutenant David Wagner is his manager at Huddersfield and who can better evaluate Chilwell just like Klopp would, than his own trusted friend? I say, get the kid and quit messing about. I may not have ever seen him play but it doesn't mean he's not good enuff so those saying that, know very little about the game.

I agree if we want him just pay up the necessary amount. I would actually prefer we sign Chilwell for £10m than Hector for £20mil. Hector is obviously further along in his progression but spending £20mil on a left back is not the something I believe the club should be doing unless he is something ridiculously special. Hector to me (judging from Colognes matches not Euros) seems to be very steady and a 7/ 10 player in most attributes. That he is a german starter is more because of their lack of options at full back than anything else. Don't get me wrong I like his style but he is not worth £20mil.

all I can say is is Chilwell £10m better than Smith? If not then why not coach our own kids and save the money?

Eds, do you know the lad? I am from norway and i know people, who know him. He went to RM because he and his father thinks it is the best fotball club in the world, simple as that. Sorry to say this, since u own this site and all, but i think its quite low saying a teenager is grabbing money and has no belief in himself. Maybe you ment something else, but that's what i got out of your comments. Its actually somewhat provoking.

{Ed001's Note - I really do not care what you have to say, that is why he chose it. Best club my arse, he knew he wasn't going to get a game but also knew it would set him and his family for life. It was about money not the best for his career. Now that is not low, it is business and this is his career and he chose the quick money. I am not judging him for it, I am pointing out what he did. No one said he had no belief in himself, but he did know the coaching staff had no interest in him and didn't want him when he signed the deal with the training with the first team clause. That is why he threw tantrums and fell out big time with the club and Zidane.}

Is this last post from Norway_lad about Odegaard? It is showing up with the Chilwell posts.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Ancelotti has admitted in his book that signing Odegaard was a PR exercise.
