Hey ed. i see you mention a lot about clubs not being able to offer wages that certain players are on. is it as simple as players more often then not just refuse to take pay cuts.? Or can there be other reasons.? Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - they very rarely take pay cuts, until the end of their career when playing time or longer contracts that give them security become more important. Some are greedy, some see it as a value on their ability, some just squander so much money they can't afford to take less. There are some who don't care, but they are few and far between, just like in every business. Most people want more money.}

Ed1, what players do you know of who don't or didn't care about money?

{Ed001's Note - Carragher for one, though it must be said there are less recent examples to choose from and it is very rare among players who are moving to another club, unless it is one they support. Agger is the best example though, Barca (and others) offered to more than double the wage he earnt at Liverpool on more than one occasion. He turned it down because he loved playing for Liverpool more than he wanted the money. Then, when pushed out by Rodgers, he chose to go to Brondby over many better wages on offer.}

Still devastated Brendan let Agger leave, that one just never made sense to me.
