Hi eds, tony Barrett has said gotze has his heart set on Liverpool and we want to sign him. He's supposed to be very reliable when talking about Liverpool. Why wouldn't be sign him if everything checks out.

if you scroll down the page you will see a valid reply from ed 1 about Gotze.

I remember a while ago some of the Eds said that the club has tightened up considerably in terms of disclosing information, not much gets out now, it would be coming from Goetzes end. As such without that link to the club anymore the likes of Pearce and Barrett aren't necessarily right. Though I'm not sure.

Actually we already have our very own goetze in Texeira.

{Ed002's Note - History - he has played about a game a season for Liverpool and is moving in the summer. Even Goetze can manage more than that.}

Leek, deluded mate.

Gotze is a world class player and he's on 22.

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich don't agree.}

He was world class at Dortmund but there was at least two players better than him when he was there in reus and lewondowski. At Bayern he had 1 good season and hasn't really cut the mustard. Some good performances but injury prone and inconsistent has kept him on the bench. If you have seen him play you would see why, Bayern just have superior players to him. I get why people want him, he's been quality in the past and he's a marquee name. I would say he's a good purchase depending on the price. He is no more than £25m player. And with the likes of coutinho firmino and lallana surely that means someone on the way out. It's just a signing that's a luxury signing rather than one that makes sense, for me.

Tony Barrett has never been right about anything LFC - it's always a copy of what other journalists have said.

Sounds like Jurgen is not ruling it out. I would rather Gotze over over Lallana, mostly because the manager may get more out of Gotze but I guess that would remain to be seen.

Of all the silly rumours pertaining to Klopp and his ex players we should be hoping Lewandowski materialises. I know we need players in other positions more, but it's fun this pre transfer window speculation, isn't it?!

And the ironic thing is we finally have one of these players we have lusted after for seasons genuinely talking up a move and we're like "nah. "

Anyhoo. I'm more concerned that we might not finish in the top half at the moment. We need to get some "W"s down.

Robbo, between lewandowski and reus, i like reus more.

Never mind a keeper sakho is a liability at the back he makes everyone nervous as hell.

It's a good thing that Bayern don't think he's world class.

Banter, Sakho had a bad game yesterday and when he has a nad game he has a stinker but that's getting rarer by the month. His consistency is improving considerably and I think he and Lovren have been superb over the last 6-8 weeks. I point to games against United in the League and Europa.
When he is on form Sakho dominates aerial battles and is quick reading the game. he's like a wild dog version of Agger.

Banter, Plus we've got Matip coming in already! Or has he already been forgotten about and decided as not good enough?

Reus would be good, but we have Firmino who is maybe not like for like but would play in a similar position. I know Reus plays as a striker but he is yet again an attacking mid, when we are short on fit strikers. If we knew Sturridge were going to be fit for 9 of every 10 games next season then we'd be set but there is that question mark now. Maybe it's not the most important position to fill but in the context of Klopp's ex proteges coming to club, we should hope for Lewandowski.

Look it's not a serious proposition, just a tongue in cheek observation.

I feel it's going to take a long time to untangle the mess we're in having signed the players we have done. I would guess that after another 2 seasons and 4 transfer windows we will have a quite different team.

Sakho looked a bit tired from international duty yesterday but was superb last 20 mins, he is a top defender.

With Sakho being a defender. His errors are more prone to scrutiny than say, Sturridge or Can. Both didn't have games to there own standard. Sturridge one on one with the keeper and misses. If that was Benteke this page would be going mad! A few times Can have the ball away yesterday and got out muscled by Dembele but I haven't seen a mention of that on here. There mistakes are not as goal threatening as Sakho's. If he makes a mistake its leading to a attempt on goal and is scrutinised more.
As good as Coutinho was yesterday and the player he is. Should he be missing the target from 16 yards out?
