Hi EDD'S, could you enlighten us on these reports that a middle - eastern company is in advanced talks to take over the club.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about any advanced talks, but it is very difficult to get info on that unless you know someone involved, as NDAs keep the vast majority of people quiet. I know there is interest, a lot of it, in particular in Dubai, in buying Liverpool, but I don't know any more than that.}

I've just read the same. massive injections of cash but it is from the daily star so not sure about the accuracy. I remember eds saying it would not be like city as emirates are all about pushing their global brand but I guess we would still be cash rich? I hope we smash spurs!

1st April might give you a clue.

With the oil price etc still low I find it difficult to believe a consortium would be willing to dump a load of money into a financially fragile club such as ourselves, and if they are, then I would suggest they're more than likely bad business men. I would hope this isn't true, as I would expect it to match the Hicks and Gillet reign for the damage it will cause.

David Moores originally shook hands on a deal with Dubai International Capital (DIC) to sell Liverpool before George Gillett and Tom Hicks stepped in and bought the club due to DIC hesitating on the deal, if the interested party is DIC, who are the international investment arm of Dubai Holding, a global conglomerate and sovereign wealth fund of the government of Dubai and its ruling family, I don’t think they will be put off by cheap oil prices.
If true it is the only way Liverpool will challenge the European giants.

{Ed001's Note - they will not be buying us.}

There's been way too much DIC in Liverpool over the past years, let's hope Ed' right.

Leicester have shown that it doesn't take vast sums to challenge, just a good team that fits together.

That's been one of our main issues. No doubt we were dug our of a hole and have spent significantly, but recruitment and PR have been poor. And that's being generous.

I'm not asking for prices, investment or companies who are interested. Honest opinion though would you like new owners?

We've always been told there is an exit plan with current owners. Would it be beneficial for them to sell from a fans point of view or would the new owners cut everything to the bone?

Is that why you met up with Harry ed001?
Planning a takeover bid?

{Ed001's Note - he was busy taking Agbonlahor and Richards out on the lash mate.....}

be careful what you wish for would be my answer, the current owners are not perfect, but there is a lot worse out there. I expect them to stick to there exit plan, also why would anyone working for the daily star be privy to a story no one else seems to know about?

Since when was the Daily Star even remotely accurate or in-the-know. You're better off chatting to some bloke down the pub than taking the Star's info as true.
