Hey eds rumoured interest in young polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, have you heard anything about him? Sort-of "we are interested, but will bring him in during the summer if at all" type of rumour. Sounds plausible, though I do not see how he fits in with Grujic coming unless a massive clearout in CM is on the cards.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City had a sustained interest in Piotr Zielinski but Udinese didn't want to sell him and over the summer they stepped back from their pursuit of him. Certainly he will not be moving in January but a number of clubs have looked at him including Brighton, Napoli, Roma, Auxerre, Young Boys and Bayer Leverkusen. I am not aware of LIverpool showing an interest but they may have done.}

I don't like the last couple of January transfers windows esept tthe January we brought suares and sturradge in that January great stuff we have bourght grujic sent back on loan to red star done the same in the summer for origi bourght him and loans him back to lille we have loans caulker to the end of the season I think I remember a deal going n and and on and on till after 11pm when January window closed and confirmed he was not coming konoplayanka but I think this time there is a chance Alex texria could still sign for us I love liverpool football club ynwa well done getting to finlql.

We need midfielders, our present crop just aren't good enough, so yes a clear out is needed. Hendo, Can, Rossiter and Brannigan are worth keeping as squad players, but realistically none of them should be in our first choice XI, a couple more additions (+ Grujic) are needed. so let's hope this Polish guy is up to it.

What you on about WooltonRed? None of our midfield is good enough? what's wrong with Henderson? Can is better than a squad player. And you rate Grujic higher than Milner and Lucas? Tell me about all the games you've seen him play in.

Fickle fans. We're not some super power any more that can go out and sign Pogba and James Rodriguez.

Before we continue to slate our midfield remember they are having to work harder because we are weak upfront and shocking at the back. If we can strengthen in these areas then then the midfield can be freed to play. Yes there are better players out there but we don't have CL and are not tempting for ambitious youngsters. let's look at the real weaknesses first and then upgrade other areas later.

Can may finish up a first team CM but needs a lot of work and maturing. Far too prone to stupid errors and lapses in concentration, especially when we're defending. We need Hendo for his drive, desire and he loves LFC, we need a bit of that. Yes I agree our midfield still needs a lot of work. Personally I hope the rumours come off regarding us buying Xhaka in the summer. His steel and strength is what's currently missing in my opinion. Yes he picks up a lot of cards but so did Mascherano and he was the last CDM we had of quality and we never replaced him properly.

Why is everybody crying because there is criticism of the midfield? He is right, they aren't good enough. We have good players in Can, Milner, Hendo, Lucas and Allen, but they are not world beaters. Rose tinted spectacles.

I will slate the defence and attack. We are leaking goals mainly from set pieces and we are not scoring goals. Yet we can retain possession and create numerous chances in every match. It is obvious to anyone that a commanding CB or pair of CB's is needed along with a 20 goal a season, fully fit striker. The current squad is not unfixable but leave the midfield alone. Sort that out in the summer or next summer.

Oh please, what is it with people on this website and over-glorifying our players? Can is CERTAINLY NOT better than a squad player- Emre Can would not make it into any midfield in the top 5. Despite his age and bla bla bla, if you can't see the huge flaws in his game then you need to take those rose-tinted glasses off. He is extremely inconsistent, and has heaps of issues to iron out, hence why he is only squad-player quality. Stop bloody crying and throwing your toys just because some people don't rate certain Liverpool players.

Go and watch Emre Can play a few games, find how many meaningful contributions he made in each match, and then come back.

Thing about our midfielder is? Pace well the lack of it. Lucas and emre aren't fast enough for prem, were has hendo and millner will run all day, but still lack that extra bit of pace that would make them world class, still 2 top midfielders though. Think Allen has that little pace injection more then any of them, surprised klopp hasn't used him more in a 3 with hendo and milner either side, anyhow my point being that we should always thrive to be better and midfielder players with that extra pace would surely improve us. Is Allen getting sold in summer u think?
