Ed02 said yesterday that he is free to sign a pre-contract with other clubs, hence it would make sense that any 'rumours' are referring to that. I would be extremely surprised if he's signed for us to join in this window, but best wait for the Eds to comment.

Fornax why is it strange to sign him now for a small fee rather than spend the whole summer trying to get him to sign when there would be a lot more clubs in a position to offer him a better deal elsewhere

Is £4million cheap? Especially considering we have adequate cover right now. We've already pissed millions away according ed001 on Caulker, why exacerbate the problem by paying that money, to my mind, needlessly.
