Makes sense in some respects as he is happy to be a back up (to Kane or Sturridge), can come in and score goals when called upon, and fits into both teams high pressing styles. Would rather have Long than Benteke to be fair.

Still though, do we really need a striker? Benteke, Sturridge, Ings, Origi and Firmino at the club already. Klopp rarely uses two. Unless Sturridge and Benteke are on the way out it makes no sense. Firmino, Long, Ings and Origi gives us 4 very hard working and energetic strikers though. Sturridge and Benteke are both lazy and injury prone. Think we could aim a little higher than Long though tbh if we were to sell Daniel and Christian. Having said that, Klopp likes working with unfinished articles.

To be fair Ed, Long does gurantee you goals but I don't see him ever scoring 15-20 because his finishing is so erratic. He's also very similar to Danny Ings.

Like I said, I think we should be aiming higher. Lacazette, Aubameyang, Lewandowski etc. Look at what Arsenal have done. They have sacked in signing 5-6 good players each season and focused on signing 1 world class player. First Ozil, then Sanchez and now Cech. In 3 years they have gone from also rans to legitimate title contenders with these 3 players making the difference and young players like Gibbs, Bellerin, Oxlade, Coquelin, Wilshere, Chambers etc filling gaps in the squad.

We should do the same. For me personally, I would move on Sturridge and Benteke and just go all out to sign an absolutely world class striker. The 3 I mentioned earlier are my preferred options. Benteke is poor though and relying on Sturrdge is about as sensible as marrying Ashley Cole and trusting him to stay loyal!

EMS you have a point he'll get you more goals than the strikers we have now and sort of fits into klopps vision. If I am honest though think the rumour is BS.
