So it's bad news! Sturridge out for a further 12 weeks! Top player WHEN fit, but that is nowhere near often enough! I fear his time is up!

Could any of the eds let me know if there has ever been a player with this many injuries to different parts of the body? And how did their respective clubs treat them in relation to getting them back fit or getting rid?

{Ed001's Note - whenever a player has a long term injury, they then pick up niggles and knocks constantly as they attempt to return to full fitness. It is normal. You just have to be cautious with them and keep your fingers crossed as luck plays a huge part.}

Where you heard this?

Doubt the club would be revealing the results of a scan at 11pm.

12 weeks out?
Is the scan not taking place this afternoon?

How long are we going to keep waiting and waiting for him?
Surely its time to free up that wage.

Klopp has said its not too bad, I think another 12 weeks wouldn't fall in this category.

So, is Jurgen saying that Dan just needs to get his big boy pants on and take some man up pills?

No I think he's saying he's not going to be out for 12 weeks.

The gaffer has said the player needs to learn the difference between serious pain and (just) pain. Doesn't sound favourable really.

I said on here 6 moths ago that he was mentally weak and unwilling to play unless 100% fit - and get slagged for it.

Well done to Robboz for pointing out what Klopp is saying about serious pain and pain?

We cannot afford to carry a player on his wages unless we get over 30 games a season out of him at least and that is all there is to it.

It would be good to hear the EDS view on DS and his mental toughness. Ed1 as a fan especially.

Makes me laugh, in both previous posts in this thread I am saying the same thing effectively. No one agrees with first, no one disagrees with the second.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know the details well enough, nor the lad, to know if he struggles with mental toughness. He is certainly mentally tough enough to continue to have great self belief even when no one else believed he was capable of leading a line.

My issue with Sturridge is his off field activities, far too much time hanging round with musicians etc, when he should be concentrating on his recovery. Just because he doesn't drink, which is a good thing for an athlete, doesn't mean late nights aren't damaging his fitness.}
