Think u lot are forgetting that QPR get a % of the sterling money.
If he's sold for $50m Liverpool would only bank roughly $38m with the rest going to QPR.
So no way are they gunna sell for 25/30m.

{Ed002's Note - Complex, the threat of Webster and no sale this summer makes him worth perhaps £8M in January.}

He's got two years left on his contract. So not this January but next yeah 8m.

{Ed001's Note - no this January, or he would be going for nothing. Do you not understand? Only you seem to be getting it all wrong, clearly not understanding that next summer he can just go under the Webster ruling.}

The club better not act proud and hold on to him, resulting in selling at a loss. I know you've worked around this question before Ed001, but do Liverpool have a specific player in mind if Sterling leaves or are their targets independent of what happens with him? In other words I'm seriously hoping Konoplyanka isn't the standard were setting as replacement

{Ed001's Note - it is not Konoplyanka, the possibilities, such as Cheryshev, have been mentioned before.}

Think Ed02 is pulling your leg at £8m in January - if he's in demand the we'd still get a good fee.

Not that we would let his contract run down but we'd still get a fee due to his age.

That said I think we should sell and if we are going to get upward on £30m then we have to.

{Ed001's Note - there is no leg pulling, Aidy Ward has made it plain the Webster ruling is a very real possibility.}

very true edd add to the fact he is not worth it with the baggage and wages that will come with him but it is a buyers market and even thou city could buy the finished article for less money i am pretty sure they need to reinforce there english quota for europe which might bump the price up ,could be wrong?
franky

{Ed001's Note - they could just look elsewhere by then, Redmond would do the same, Demarai Gray too. They have looked at both.}

I think we should 100% sell the lad.

He doesn't want to be here, it's the right thing to do. Get the best price possible and move on.

Still think we get more that £8m in Jan though :-)

{Ed001's Note - when his career is in nosedive, you expect his value not to nosedive too?}

He points to the more recent cases of Brazilian midfielder Matuzalem’s protracted transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk to Real Zaragoza and goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis’s abrupt departure from Udinese to join Sevilla, both in the summer of 2007.

"In those cases compensation wasn’t a calculation of the remaining proportion of the wages that should be covered, it was of the actual harm the club suffered," Geey adds. "In the case of De Sanctis it was the replacement cost for Udinese to buy a goalkeeper of similar standing, and in the end the cost of two was included in the calculation."

Ed's is this true? if so, surely it won't be so bad and we should not be so desparate to sell?

{Ed002's Note - The Liverpool fans significantly over-price their players. I am not sure what the going price is for a naïve twenty year old winger who is still developing and has yet to hone his end product.}

We over value players? He did come in 3rd expensive player in a recent survey didn't he? Something like £60m I know that's over valued but surely we'd get much more than £8m

{Ed001's Note - in a recent survey? Oh please, have you listened to yourself? This is getting more idiotic by the day.}

Surely just a matter of time so until the club's agree a common ground on the fee and this one goes through ed??. think the club and raheems agent have absolutely handled this shockingly. the kid is a super footballer and we are definitely missing a trick on this one in my opinion.

{Ed001's Note - considering how little interest there is in him from elsewhere, it would be a surprise if a deal was not agreed in time.}

Personally I'd settle for £30m upfront plus £5-10m add on for Man City winning League Title and/or CL within 2 years.

I think that is fair (actually I think it would be a right result) as I totally agree with Ed002'S assessment of his current abilities. I actually think we would be getting a £10-15m bump in his true value, because he is English.
