Ed look like Liverpool is on red alert with sterling case will this speed up the review in term of Brendan Rodger

{Ed001's Note - unless it really hits the fan in the next couple of days, I don't expect anything to happen until the season is over. It does seem the ground is now being prepared with some stories being seeded in the media which will point out just what a mess of things Rodgers is making. In my opinion that is so there will be no backlash when the decision is made. Up until now all the British media has backed Rodgers totally, all of a sudden he is under the spotlight and there is more to come out yet.}

come on ed01 u can't leave it like that ha more to come out yet?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, about the disharmony in the team. I expect a lot more of the stories regarding how many players are unhappy right now to come out. I know Gerrard could certainly say more, but like Agger and Kuyt he will keep his mouth shut out of a love for the club. He will toe the party line because he wants the best for the club, but don't be surprised if others don't feel the same way. I really hope FSG act now, either remove him and be done or confirm he will be staying to the squad and tell them to like it or lump it. This review is disruptive, it brings things to a head and highlights the issues behind the scenes to all the players.}

Ed001

Curious to know your thoughts about this as you know a lot more about this than we do - Gerrard has come out many times and said Rodgers is the right man, but you're implying here that they don't see eye to eye. Why doesn't he remain neutral when asked about this then? Surely that would be a better option?

{Ed001's Note - because he loves the club and will say what he thinks is the best thing to say for the club, rather than what he feels. Just like Agger hasn't come out and said anything bad either.}

Surely if it's not a secret to certain people then the club board will know and act accordingly. I know it has been the case with the Boston Red Sox that if its not working out then they will cut ties. So pretty much, Stoke could be BR's last game as well as others.
Be interesting to see if Glen Johnson has anything to say. Met him recently and he wasn't shy in saying a few things

Love for the club? If it was in the wrong hands and you knew about it surely it would be best to say something and expose the bad than leave it hidden especially considering Gerarrds position? Am tired of Gerrard saying he would have more trophies if Rodgers got the job earlier (maybe in the conference stevie) surely even Brendan knows time is up? According to the Eds the dressing room has now crumbled. obviously gerrard was holding that unit together now they have no leader and a clueless manger with no direction in terms of identity or experience of winning! Not to mention a ridiculous transfer record which has now left players wanting out "sterling" the fact the committee ended up forcing deals in the end out of spite confirms the club is a mess from top to bottom which is why gerrard has been kept out the loop lately! Can we just get the axe out and have done with it and start fresh? I just hope Klopp was some how on a connection flight from fenerbahce to boston! MAYBE SPARKY can confirm that Brendan's landlord has put forward an eviction notice? Thanks for the info eds greatly appreciated!

Sorry Ed001, I do not normally disagree with you but these stories are not being seeded by the club. They are all emanating from Aidy Ward and his associates (that's from a reporter friend). In my opinion we should get accustomed to the fact that Raheem will not change his agent and we are fighting a lost cause.

8.) 19 May 2015
19 May 2015 05:25:04
To be fair, Ed001, Agger did say a few not so complimentary things about Rodgers (as have Downing and Sahin before him), including:

"The things that went wrong between us is that I say things the way they are and I expect others to treat me the same way. Maybe it is wrong to always expect this."

Do we know 'why' the British media has been such staunch BR supporters? Because he's a British manager, or is there more to it of which I'm unaware? Is he a preferred sound byte where most in football are merely cliché-spouting boring people?

10.) 19 May 2015
19 May 2015 07:40:38
I'm not seeing any media showing negativity towards Todgers? Also still seeing ex players blaming Aidy Ward and Sterling over Rodgers.

Totally 100% agree with Carra, where has Sterling been in the big games? Wants trophies, villa semi where was Sterling. CL we didn't show up, neither did sterling. It seems he like to be carried along with great players, join in with the fun but not create it himself. Big players step up and shine amongst a poor team, that's why people look at Austin at QPR or Cambiasso when Leicester were poor. Great/Good players stand out regardless. See Countinho, he's been in the same team but he's got into team of the season, ask yourself why?

{Ed001's Note - he is young, give him time.}

11.) 19 May 2015
19 May 2015 09:15:06
Lads 20, bit much to ask were he's been in big games. Lads been put up top and people demand he performs, shouldn't be his job.

Not down to sterling to take the Gerrard role and drag lfc to titles.

I also think young players want to play in teams and for coaches that can teach them something and inspire them to greatness. I think Sterling had that with Gerard, Sturridge (when fit), Suarez, Coutinho all some of the best in the league last season - three of those have gone now, we have no CL and Rogers reign turning into a shambles.

Frankly although I hate the way it's playing out, I can almost understand the guys perspective, particularly if he thinks he's been hung out to dry in the press too as indicated by him talking to the Beeb.

I say we should reluctantly let him go assuming we get over GBP30mln(we still have Ibe/Llalana/Coutinho/Markovic/Teixera that can cover his position), bring in a top top coach like Klopp, bring in a couple of top top players in striker/midfield where we are weak and we go again. Just please do it soon before this all unravels!

Got to say he's brave going against the club like this.
Thing is if you give him a contract now will that make him feel untouchable? Don't want him to think he can do what he wants, when he wants in future.
What a nightmare and it's all Brendan's doing.

Interested to know Ed's what exactly is the Brodg doing to these players to alienate them so much? I realize leaving somebody out of the team does it but there seems to be much more to it than just playing time. Is he singling out players in training, or is it the constant playing out of position, deflecting blame in the media etc? Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - playing out of position, leaving them out of the squad altogether, breaking promises on game time etc.}

16.) 19 May 2015

Cheers Ed- got to say I'm worried he's going to step on Can's toes the way he plays him and moves him around in games. I've been a supporter of Rodgers but if he fails at basic man management then somethings not quite right. Thanks again.

Hi ED001,

Great insight as usual. But I was wondering, Rodgers surely did much the same in terms of man management in previous years compared to this year right? I mean he has mistreated players in the past and not just this season e.g. Agger, Lucas (past and present) and things at least on the surface were fine and we went on that run albeit with Suarez in the team and the players I guess you could say were in their correct position for the most part. Did the players only start turning against Rodgers as we started playing poorly this season, or was it always in the background and the winning simply masked it?

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - it was always in the background and being masked, Sakho had issues if you remember, Lucas had injuries so wasn't being frozen out, etc etc. This has been an issue that has grown over time and will continue to do so until the club sorts itself out.}

Thanks Ed001,

Unfortunately, that's the general feeling I've been getting from viewing this site over the last couple of years. Not nice to see. As my girlfriend says "men never change", think she may be right :P which I guess means the only way forward is by letting Rodgers go then as his "character" (cringe every time) can't be changed? You don't necessarily need to respond to that half question unless you believe there is another solution

Sterling is the most over rated 20 yo in football.His last 4 chances from inside 6 yards he has failed to hit the target on every occasion which is no coincidence.Arron lennon would have done better for us than sterling this season without a doubt. I would like to keep sterling but everything points to him leaving just keep in mind he is EASILY replaceable if we are clever with our signings.

Why are people still insisting on klopp for manager. his team are very similar to us (can't compete financially) with Munich.
He had a few good seasons with them but this year has been poor, I don't think he would be an improvement on Rodgers at all.he's overhyped.

{Ed001's Note - so one bad year after managing to take a team that, in your words, can't compete financially to a couple of titles and he is overhyped?}

Comparing a proven manager with trophies in his CV like Klopp to a clueless, trophy less failure like BR is the moral and ethical dishonesty at its worst

Actually Agger did go out and slam Brendan Rodgers. But it kind of slipped under the radar - most likely because it was in danish and in a danish magazine (Euroman if anybody is interested). But he told how Rodgers in no time went from being very friendly and supportive to totally freeze him out. Going back on promises, not speaking to him etc. All in all Agger was very disappointed to be forced out. He would have loved to stay longer and even end his career in Liverpool.

I will try and see if i can find the article again and put some quotes in here (with my own bad translation) if anybody is interested and the eds thinks it is alright?

For Ed01 - when you say there's more to come out, are you also referring to some or all of the alleged goings on with FSG as detailed in a Blind Religion article recently referring to FSG stacking BR? Not sure if you've seen it? Sounds farcical and unbelievable but I'm not sure on the credibility of it.

{Ed001's Note - it is a load of rubbish.}
