We have decided to change the Teams page to be the Liverpool Match Posts page, so look for posts talking about the latest Liverpool match there.

But most of the posts still go to the Liverpool Banter page.

19 Mar 2018 23:45:35
Also more posts are being added to the Liverpool Other Posts page.

Question for one of the Eds please? Do you think liverpool will buy a centre back in the summer? Thanks in advance.

Believable3 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - it is not expected to happen, there are other priorities.}

19 Mar 2018 17:44:21
CB isn't priority Ed 001?. That's shocking.

Agree3 2Disagree

{Ed001's Note - not right now, Gomez is to be developed.}

19 Mar 2018 18:24:08
Assuming we're looking at RBs then? Have my fingers crossed that Matip leaves in the summer! Really not keen on him.

A good right back would be great and could give Gomez support if we bring in someone with experience. also the only area where I can't think of a single player who we've been linked with! Can't even think of many good options myself.

Eds, Any names of RBs we've looked at?

Agree3 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - yes right back, we have looked at hundreds mate, bit soon to get certain names of the likely targets. We have looked at Hysaj, but I would expect him to be out of reach now with Napoli not wanting to sell. The Sociedad right back Odriozola, though he is a bit too attacking for my liking, as he also play midfield. There are a few in Germany, Heinrichs, Elvedi and Weiser and the Leipzig one, whose name I have forgotten. Lots more too though how many of them will even be in the thinking when it comes time to try and buy one I don't know right now. Oh Bilbao's right back.}

19 Mar 2018 18:42:54
Cheers a lot Ed. Sorry couldn't recall any names being mentioned previously. Don't know of many RBs really so I'm not even sure of who to get excited about! Would be nice to have someone who is more defensive than offensive though I think.

Thanks again!

Agree3 0Disagree

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen much of any of them meself either to be honest.}

19 Mar 2018 23:15:24
That's good news Ed, I'm worried that a new CB would pretty much end Gomez's future with the club.

19 Mar 2018 13:17:46
There is no way possible to compare Mo with Leo-nell. Salah is a decent humane young man who does not believe himself to be bigger than his team mates and the club he represents. He also happens to be rather a good footballer who I hope stays at the club for a long time. His agent had made overtures to Christiano FC but these were ignored. Now that the boot is (apparently) on the other foot I hope that Mo gives the same reply as his agent was given - NONE!

19 Mar 2018 12:09:02
What's the chances of Ndidi Ed001?

Believable3 0Unbelievable

{Ed001's Note - very slim Leicester are not interested in selling him.}

19 Mar 2018 15:19:20
I like Ndidi and think he would be a good replacement for Emre. I would still like to see someone of Jorginho's ilk come in as well though. Someone to pull strings from deeper when needed. With Naby Keita arriving too I think those three would be an excellent mix and would allow us to take our time finding someone to replace Phil without getting desperate.

Agree5 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 18:04:33
I would take Ndidi tomorrow as he is very good and LFC fans will have a good chance to assess him as he will be on duty with Nigeria at the WC. Now will LC sell? That is another issue as Ed02 has said.

Agree1 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 21:32:15
I want both Ndidi and Jorginho to join Keita at the club. Yes, that means 3 new first choice mids in one window but Klopp knows very well that the above 3 can help the team dictate play and take our game to the next level.
I'd give the GKs and defenders another season and concentrate on strengthening the midfield for now.

Evening eds

Your info the last few days been spot on as normal and the Draxler news was certainly a new one for me. Got me thinking, and Im sorry for jumping the gun, will you be doing a Sharkopod soon or not to share any potential outs and ins in the summer?

Believable1 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - When time allows.}

19 Mar 2018 10:53:41
Really looking forward to the next sharkopod. I feel we know what there is to know right now though? thing's haven't quite heated up just yet or so it seems. Hope your well Ed2.

Agree3 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - I am fine thanks. I am expecting a number of English sides, including Liverpool, to look to having everything tied up early this summer.}

19 Mar 2018 19:04:42
forgive my ignorance ed02, but what is a sharkopod and how do i view it?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - A Sharkopod is a beautiful thing Tel, perhaps the most beautiful thing known to mankind, and you should be able to search and find them. They are audio files and you may need to ask Ed033 where he keeps them.}

18 Mar 2018 21:28:01
French Journo saying we have made an approach to leicester for Ndidi, any truth to this? Apparently they are currently asking for too much.

18 Mar 2018 12:33:41
I see the rumours linking us to Draxler are doing the round again - anything in this Eds? Seems odd for us to be looking at someone who can play the Salah/ Mane position unless of course we see him playing centre mid so as a replacement for someone like Lallana.

Believable4 2Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Yes there is something in it. He is certainly not seen as a replacement for Lallana but has the potential to be considered an addition to the other two whereas Coutinho was there previously - in the same way as Lemar would have been used - more centrally than a simple winger.}

18 Mar 2018 12:59:00
Absolutely delighted to hear we are in for him. He is such a wonderful player and something we are missing when teams sit deep as he can carry the ball and slice apart defence with a pass. good to be linked with jorginho and draxler. Keita already signed. Good times ahead.

18 Mar 2018 14:28:13
Draxler could become exceptional under Klopp but I'm kinda worried about how he never seems to settle and moves around quite a bit. He also seems to want to return to Germany all the time so I can imagine him bolting from us if Bayern come calling after a good season or two with us.

18 Mar 2018 17:39:45
Ed02, Draxler is a class player and is a talent. However, isn't one of the reason Wolfsburg let him go was because of his attitude. Has he shown some maturity since his move to PSG? Has interest moved in from Lemar due to players desire or price? I know you do not like to talk about players that are no longer in the loop. Also Macca said he had messaged the name of a French player the club was looking at, is that player still in the plans.

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - No there is an issue - he came out in January and said he would join Real Madrid, Barcelona or return to Germany. Forget what Macfadden said, all it did was foul up the site for a week and get me a bunch of abuse.}

18 Mar 2018 18:08:21
Cheers Ed!

18 Mar 2018 18:17:44
Forget draxler an if he ain't on our radar then jib Lamar, I am watching leicster an mahrez is brilliant we should of went for him, I think Leicester were asking for fantasy money which was no were near accurate, if we could get him for a reasonable price I think he would flourish under klopp, also vardy as striker well worth a punt brings that nasty edge up front an could b great support for bobby.

Agree1 14Disagree

18 Mar 2018 19:00:24
Leicester stilll want stupid money for Mahrez and I’ve seen nothing today that makes me think he’s worth it. Draxler could be a bargain given that PSG want rid. Cheers for the info ED.

Still say Mahrez is the best fit around for us, plays a very similar system already.

After losing to Real Madrid, Draxler came out and mouthed off about Emery being too defensive blah blah blah. Is this something he is prone to do? We already have too many players who do too much of their talking off the pitch.

19 Mar 2018 00:10:34
I'm with Ron on this one, I don't see what the fuss is, not at all. Should he join, fair enough he gets my 100% backing but I'm not as confident about him as some of you are.

Agree1 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 07:09:26
Draxler is a fantastic player BUT his attitude is the worst. When he was at Wolfsburg he tried to force a move in the Summer but much like Aubameyang nobody wanted to buy him. He behaved very unprofessionally and played poorly till he got his move to PSG.

Id love to see him, because he is a good player but the only downsides are his attitude if he doesn't get what he wants and he thinks he is on a level with the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar.

Agree1 0Disagree

19 Mar 2018 08:07:54
We'll be doing well if we can recruit a team full of humble superstars.

Wasn't Mane meant to have a bad attitude when we signed him and he hasn't been any trouble at the club.

19 Mar 2018 18:13:01
I was fortunate enough to see Draxler play in the euros in Lille 2016 and his ability to breeze past players with his end product im sure would be welcomed at LFC, And considering the work Klopp has done with the Ox, robbo, Salah, Firmino and mané I'd be confident he'd be able to help him reach his potential.

17 Mar 2018 23:34:36
There is only one other player on the planet that can score goals like Mo did today, and that’s Messi. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he is as good as Messi - yet - but there simply isn’t anyone else who has that ridiculous ability to keep close control of the ball, at speed, whilst looking like he is still playing within himself. I’d say Henry had it to a degree, but it is pretty rare. The guy is such a talent. We just have to keep hold of the lad for as long as possible.

Believable30 2Unbelievable

18 Mar 2018 04:11:49
What a shame that the reality is your last sentence. Imagine him in a team with Suarez (albeit a runt) and coutinho (albeit a wantaway) . I feel like Southampton!

Agree6 15Disagree

18 Mar 2018 09:54:53
I’d agree, his mix of pace, ball control, composure, ability to read the defender, and finishing is exceptional.

I also thought Mane had a storming game yesterday, if you look how many time he dropped deep to get on the ball and how chances he created, it was exceptional.

Midfield looked a lot better for having Gini and Hendo in there too.

Well played lads!

The person who really deserves credit is Klopp. Salah was not even at this level at Roma. People writing him off (as they did Robertson) but yet, Klopp tweaks a few things and he’s on fire. And it’s not just him that Klopp has improved. Makes me very excited for the arrival of Keita. Klopp will again take a very talented player to new heights.

Great post JigzTheRed.
We are so lucky to have Salah ( credit to our Scouts) and even luckier to have Jurgen Klopp as our Manager .

18 Mar 2018 15:45:09
I remember after the UTD game, so many pool fans, slating klopp. I'm sat here thinking there is no other manager in the world i would rather have than Klopp, he's a good fit for Liverpool, you won't win every single game you play, that's how football is. We have been playing the most amazing football this season. Even losing Couts, we just stormed on and carried on smashing teams because Klopp knows what he is doing, We could end up winning nothing which is a shame.

Has been highlighted City been given too much respect, when teams like Wigan are going at them and getting points. It's embarrassing the prem teams who don't try and get a draw or grab a 1-0. Not saying City haven't played top notch but some games teams look set up to just conceded a 1-0 sort of result.

I think we have been going strength to strength and after losing to the mancs we came back against watford and bashed them 5-0, they didn't play well and made it easier for us than it should have been i think, but a top response from the boys.

I think next season will be a little bit closer at the top and hopefully with Kieta and the a few other additions in summer we will be able to properly challenge! I can't see us selling Salah, considering couts went in Jan, you won't win anything selling your best players each window. Definitely going to have interest from the big foreign teams but I think we can keep him!

I fully agree Alistair when we lost to utd all the supporters were call for klopp head, he has no plan b and so on. The one manager who shuts up shop better than anyone is mourino and we gave them a 2 goal lead. Klopp has being playing tremendous football and of course we won't win every game but I still watch every match this season because it fabulous football. I haven't seen this flowing type of football from liverpool since the mid 80s. If we get a couple of more descent signing in we should be nearly complete. By the way eds best football site on the net by miles. Keep up the good work.

This is where Coutinho's loss / lack of a replacement is going to bite.
Why oh why have we left ourselves short?

16 Mar 2018 12:31:41
Didn't we beat City without Coutinho?

I love being the under dog. This is not the draw i wanted before. However, this reaction is perfect! Everyone is writing us off. The Chsmpions league was made for under dogs and we have no pressure. People expect us to lose. They have huge pressure because they're expected to win, and their fans and older players want this more than anything else.

I can't wait. I hope we shatter their dreams. 8 European trophies. How many do City have? Even since they had all that money, We've still had more success in Europe with that runners up medal in 2016!

Anybody remember Klopp's first season when we drew the Europa League favourites, Dortmund and then lost the first leg? We still had the heart to pull through.

Its going to be entertaining for sure. What a draw, simply amazing. All the other draws are just meh.

Looking forward to the game.

Agree2 2Disagree

16 Mar 2018 14:28:17
I can assure you that the City dressing room did not want this draw either. There is an added pressure when you face teams from your own country, especially when you are theoretically the favourite. If you face Barcelona or Bayern and lose, you give it your best shot and the world say's you are not quite there. This is a pressure game for many other reasons. Also, Pep knows that Klopp does have the ability to fashion a side to beat one of his.

We are strong in Europe. We are very strong at home. We weren't as bad as the result suggested at the Etihad.

So be firm in your support, we have every right to win this tie.

Agree22 1Disagree

16 Mar 2018 15:30:06
I don't get why everyone is upset about the draw, this is an elite competition and at this stage all teams are elite. If we truly belong in the Champions League let's face anyone with no fear. If we can't beat City then imaginae how we would have done against Barcelona.

Agree12 0Disagree

16 Mar 2018 16:05:10
I’m not upset because we can’t win - I believe it’ll be really close. it’s just that we will be playing a very very tough team, but without the joy that comes with playing a Bayern, Juve, Real or Barcelona in Europe.

Hopefully we get through and get that pleasure next round!

Agree5 1Disagree

16 Mar 2018 16:07:55
I think being away second leg could really play into our favor. City have an awful record at Anfield, and if we get the result, then there will be even more pressure for City to attack in the return leg. Plays right into Klopp’s style to hit on counter.

I personally would have rather faced another team, We haven't played a top European team in a while. So it would have been nice to see how we stack up against the likes of Juve or Barca, that said we have played city before and know what to expect. Likewise they know what to expect from us.

Additionally would have been nice if the possibility remained that maybe we could face city in the final and have 2 English teams then. Anyway, come on redmen :) YNWA.

The juicer, as people have alluded to we beat them without coutinho and we play better free flowing football without him. You could argue we would have had a better chance if Gerrard was playing in midfield and if carra was next to VVD but football moves on.
